We stayed at this property for 4 days across 2 stints. Hotel is centrally located and very close to the train station. One can walk to the hotel from the station but it is not easy to identify the entrance as the area is quite packed. Being centrally located meant most sightseeing places were walkable from the hotel, but at the same time, there was no point taking a taxi as the taxi route was not through the town and was much longer - hence more expensive even for a distance that is very less by foot. Front desk was very prompt and helpful throughout our stay. There is a drinking water filter on the ground floor on the way to the life which provides sparkling water as well. Rooms of the hotel are good and well equipped. Bathroom is also clean. One thing we found a bother was mosquitoes - we opened up the room balcony in the evening on the fifth floor, and soon the room had a few mosquitoes. Had to swat them. Another thing is that post breakfast, the hotel does not have anything to eat via room service. This was a problem as we were too tired one evening to step out of the hotel again after a full day's sightseeing. Given that this is a 4 star property, I found that a bit odd. The front desk, though, was helpful in getting food via deliveroo. Overall, a good experience and definitely worth staying again.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and it was a total nightmare. Our room was dirty, small, and just not well-kept. Below are three reasons why this hotel was a disaster overall: Reason 1: Mosquitoes Mosquitoes were all over our room. Every day, we came back to about 1-3 new mosquitoes. One day, we knew we killed them all but then when we opened up the covers from housekeeping making our bed, we found a dead one in our sheets! Reason 2: Dust and Cobwebs The amount of dust that we found around the room was unbearable. It was all along the wall and just shows the lack of cleaning this place does. In one corner, we found a dusty cobweb that was still yet to be cleaned. Reason 3: Lack of Cleanliness, Retouch of Walls, and Service The room had so many scoffs from previous guests that you could tell that they did not care about the room. Also, with the amount of mosquitoes we killed, you could see the marks and blood on the walls and floor. I intentionally left a bug stain on the floor to see if our rooms ever got mopped. And to no surprise, it was still there. When we informed the front desk agent lady about the mosquitoes, her reply was “Well did you tell us? We have a plug that we could have put in your room.” Her response was not only rude and lacked empathy, but made us wonder that if you knew your hotel has a problem, why would it not be plugged in the first place? Also, as guests who never been to this hotel, the last thing we would think about when checking-in are mosquitoes. Overall, this place is NOT a 4 Star hotel and definitely NOT worth over 300euros a night.

We were in a pinch and needed to find another place to stay since our Airbnb had some mould issues and we were unable to stay there. We found Mercure and were able to get a basic room. Its in a very good location close to the train station. We loved the outdoor seating area and filtered water station but didnt spend much time in the hotel. The staff were amazing and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but could be cleaner. The bathroom had mold growing on the tiles and could use a deep clean. There was noise from the street that disturbed us in the early morning but thats city life in Italy. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay.

The Mercure Firenze Centro is a great place to stay for your Firenze vacation, particularly if you are arriving by train. The hotel is centrally located a 4 minute walk from the station, a bonus not to have to walk too far dragging a suitcase over cobblestones and narrow paths. It's with a 5 minute walk of markets and 15-20 minutes to Ponte Vecchio bride - so very central for all you might want to see in Florence. Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable, staff are very friendly, great restaurants near by - want more do you want!

Excellent stay. From friendly, efficient check in, clean, air conditioned room, and great housekeeping. Very complete and affordable breakfast. All staff were friendly and very responsive to all enquiries. Very close to many of Florence’s attractions.
