Very Nice Corporate Hotel

Very nice hotel. Sort of equivalent to Hampton Inns in the USA. Nice room. Needed hooks for coats and hats. No safe for valuables. Bathroom was very hot because no HVAC vents in there, sort of odd. But shower worked well. Great breakfast. With make your own waffles! No coffee or tea in the room. Great location right on Tram 21 that takes you to downtown Munich and anywhere you need to go from downtown. Worked out great staying here for sightseeing and Oktoberfest. Was very quiet, a residential area. Central air so quiet. Has a bar and bar food. There are a few restaurants in walking distance plus Aldi and Kaufland grocery stores. Was a newer hotel in good shape. Was reasonably clean considering it appeared they had a lot of business. Shout out to Sam the receptionist/bartender a few nights, very personable and helpful. Front desk arranged our taxi to the airport. Would stay here again.

Great hotel, lovely location. The tran station is close to the hotel taking you to the city centre. The room is great and the bed is super comfy, slight noise from the construction work outside. Only thing is there’s no telephone in the room In case of an emergency or you require something, one needs to go to the reception. No tea / cafe facilities in the room , no complimentary water either Luckily there’s a store next building (Kaufland) if you want to get few things for your stay. Breakfast is really good and has various options too, friendly staff in the restaurant always have to assist but u wouldn’t say the same for the reception staff; they cared less and by the looks of it didn’t want to be here, impolite welcome, not friendly , very demotivated and it shows ! Would recommend for travellers on a budget but better options available in city centre ! Prost !

Disappointing experience in Munich

Unfortunately, my stay at Ibis München City Ost did not meet my expectations. The room was very small and lacked basic amenities like a kettle or extra pillows. The air conditioning was not working properly, which made the room uncomfortable at night. Additionally, the noise from the street made it difficult to sleep. While the location is decent, the overall experience was disappointing, and I don’t think I would choose this hotel again.

Second time staying here and, as before , found it a very good compromise - price/location. They don't do evening meals but breakfast was good - buffet style. Room was grand - not plush but good bed and shower. Cleaning of public area carpets left something to be desired. Good restaurant/pub 5 mins away - Baumkirchner - and supermarkets close by too - Kaufland and Edeka. And you're on the 21 tram route which links to Ostbahnhof in 10 mins and city centre in 20. Top tip: single journeys on city zone (M) public transport are €3.90 each. A weekly unlimited ticket is €21.10!!! No brainer!

Booked this as part of a package deal through TUI for a solo trip to Munich in October 24. The total package price was very fair and the room was good for one person. The only negatives were that the bathroom door was more of a frosted glass panel (I am not sure how convenient that would have been if two people had been sharing the room), and water from the shower tends to spread onto the bathroom floor as there is no shower curtain. Also, some hooks both in the bathroom and near the room door (for coats etc) would have been useful. It was clear that everything in the room had been designed for ease of maintenance and cleaning. That's probably a good thing as the room was well kept. One other thing to note is that the power socket near the desk was partially obstructed by some device connected directly below it. This meant that I couldn't use my travel adapter in that socket, so had to charge my laptop on the other side of the room. The breakfasts are very good and unlimited. One suggestion I would make is that Ibis could provide a tea and coffee self-service area in the lounge. This isn't provided in the rooms. If I have enough luggage space the next time I stay at an Ibis, I might pack a travel kettle and a cup! The hotel is located a short walk from two tram stops, from where you can travel to the Ostbahnhof (Eastern Rail Station) & connect to other forms of transport. Alternatively, the tram will take you straight into the city centre if you stay on board. Overall, this is a pleasant, modern hotel with helpful staff and it's just a little way from the city centre. I'd be happy to stay here again.
