Nice Stay with a Great View, but Some Minor Letdowns

I stayed at Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort for three nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Since I was already staying at ibis Pattaya next door before this, the team at ibis informed Mercure in advance, so my room was ready upon arrival, which was a nice touch. As an Accor Platinum member, I was upgraded two levels to an ocean-view room, which was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a nice bathroom. One great perk was the daily complimentary non-alcoholic minibar, which was a nice addition. Unfortunately, there’s no executive lounge for Platinum members, which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast had a good variety, but I wouldn’t recommend the Indian dishes, as they weren’t great—everything else was quite good. I redeemed my welcome drink at the bar, and the staff was friendly. Even after the restaurant closed, I was able to order food at the bar, which was really appreciated. The food was nice, both at the bar and the restaurant, but the mosquitoes in the evening were quite a disturbance while dining. The location is great, making it a good choice for travelers. Overall, a comfortable stay with great perks, though a few small improvements could make it even better. Rating: (4.5/5) - Recommended

Located at an excellent spot in a compound which hosts multiple hotels, Mercure is near the beach and good for families. But here ends its advantages. Your bags are rolled in. You go to the reception. They say your bags will be sent to your room. How ? We go back to the bell boys, who say bags have been already sent. How ? when the room was not even allotted ? The second one says he will get the bags after 10 minutes ? why ? we roll the bags to our rooms ourselves. Being a diamond accor plus member needs acknowledgement. No ? No did not happen. Whatever perks which were available as a diamond member, were never discussed or told during check in. The staff is un-trained to the limit that they start to argue when you pin point their short comings. Rooms are out-dated. Dust bin was broken. Air-con could not be adjusted. As an after thought received a fruit platter in the afternoon with a letter from the manager. Went down to the reception and asked them about the mentioned items in the letter. Again more stupid arguments. Threw the letter on their desk asking them to make the manager talk to me - nothing happened during the stay. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Over crowded with limited items and no service at all. Icing on the cake - you ask for a coffee and the head points you over to the coffee machine. tsk tsk. Specially so when one day ago you were at a Hilton with a marker on your table stating you were a Gold member and attention was being given. No such recognition even at a higher level. The Holiday Inn next door looked more exciting !

We are frequent visitors to mecure Pattaya ocean resort and met Phot who always warmly welcomes us to the hotel. He also very helpful to arrange for transport and help us with the luggage efficiently. He is a friendly worker and eager to answer any questions we have. Great service excellence by phot!

I have stayed at this hotel since 2016 (Only Stop during COVID). Their room is spacious, cozy and clean. The services are excellent, special Thanks to Phot from the concierge, he greets me as an old friend whenever I visit the hotel. It makes me feel like "HOME AWAY HOME". The location is good, easy to travel within Pattaya, and very quiet at night time. I honestly don't think I would try another hotel when I visit Pattaya.

This hotel is ageing and is in need of a good renovation. Food is average and breakfast variety the same. Service nothing special either. Came from Mercure Rayong where it was a much better experience.
