We booked 2 rooms ON THE SAME FLOOR for 3 nights. Well that didn't happen. They would only put us on the floors they wanted and one room was on the 2 floor and the other on the 6 floor. No alternative offered. Sorry all the rooms on your floor are full was the comment. So when my wife's sister wanted to come to our room she and my wife had to meet in the lobby to escort up the key controlled lift. When we checked in the lady was more intent on getting us to remit $300 holding deposit for incidentals than to give us instruction such as how the lifts worked, where the breakfast was, wifi availability etc. common service you get in any basic hotel and should be the norm in such an establishment. And then to top it off she incorrectly charged my credit card for the rooms undercharging one room by $700.00. This created an issue on check out. The check in procedure was long, arduous and just drawn out. Trying to get rooms on the same floor was just not going to happen even though we had requested this. No alternative was offered even though for the 2 few nights the hotel was not full and they could have moved one party to the same floor. The rooms were clean and tidy. We dined in the very overpriced restaurant on the first night then opted to eat out for every other meal. As for breakfast it was ok. Nothing fancy and if you like vegemite or peanut butter for your toast take your own as this hotel offers only 3 different jams for toast. Poached eggs are pre cooked so are quite firm when you get them - more like hard poached eggs. The bed was comfy but we faced North Terrace and could hear the tram clunking along and as there was a stop outside our window we heard all the commotion. Luckily the casino was across the road and has some nice dining places. There are no fine dining restaurants close by the hotel and nowhere for breakfast except the hotel. Parking is close but you have to pay for it. Valet parking is overpriced when you can do exactly the same thing yourself. The bed was comfy. Wifi was good. As for checking out the staff we just not helpful. You owe us more money was the comment. I was unaware of what this was for and why. As far as I was concerned I owed for breakfasts and parking. This was not the case. They couldn't explain it and stood there staring at their screen and pointing and commenting to each other but not including me. I showed them my phone where I had paid 3 times to the hotel. 1 room, 1 room and the extras. You have to pay for each room separately. Still no joy. This was extremely annoying and made the checkout procedure which should have been simple to be long and laborious. I decided to let them sort it out. I sure got charged as I received my account later the same day. No explanation, no comment just the bill from Alex. I had to sort this part out myself. Although this is a nice hotel we would not stay here again as we feel the staff are just not up to the job and make it not a very nice stay. I will also mention the bar staff as they were just grumpy and unpleasant.

Needs sprucing up…

The position in town was very convenient. Staff were helpful. But the place is getting a little shabby. Our bed had seen better days and was far too soft.

Very noisy. Do not book here if wanting a restful stay.

Wished I’d read reviews before booking here. Was looking for an extra special stay and would have been happy with the top price cost if the accommodation matched expectations. Was looking forward to a swim after a long drive but found the pool to be too cool to swim. Definitely not heated. Street noises heard so clearly at 11:30pm that we were unable to sleep. Advised night staff whose response was it’s the garbage trucks and they’ll stop soon. Asked if the windows were double glazed as this was something I’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Was told they’ve were and that we should be lucky we were not here for Halloween as it was even louder. Not helping joking off the noise when we have an early morning planned. If needing a restful sleep do not book this hotel.

Great hotel, have stayed here 3 times. Rooms are large and have a boutique and luxury feel. Very quiet hotel despite its location.

Beautiful modern clean hotel. Great breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite and it had lots of room. This hotel room had lots of storage for our clothes, luggage and toiletries. Traffic can be heard on the street below our room 402, but it didn’t bother me, The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of things need attention. The dinner at the restaurant was expensive and the menu very limited. We got incorrect information about an outing we did to Glenelg. We were told that we could ride a tram partway and then a bus the rest. We were also told that it was free-but we found out that wasn’t true when the transit police came aboard! Luckily they were very kind and didn’t fine us.
