Nice beach location

Staff very helpful and friendly. Location just a short walk to the beach, cafes and restaurants. Light rail transport two blocks away and bus stops close by. Rooms very big and comfortable with complementary coffee, tea and a mini fridge. Restaurant and gym located inside hotel.

The location of this Hotel is awesome as you can just walk to the beach. As for the Hotel it is somewhat dated however it was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking at the property was included although the website said they charged, so that was a bonus. We ordered room service one night as the weather was terrible to go out in and after waiting an hr we rang to enquire as to where it was. They apologised and said it would be another 20 mins. I think they forgot to make it. They did give us the cheaper of the two meals complimentary.

I am staying two nights at the Novotel this weekend. It is in a great location, literally 5 minutes walk from the beach. There are plenty of nice walks to go on. There are also a few a nice cafes and restaurants for all budgets, all in easy walk from the hotel. Bistro Dalby at the hotel offers a breakfast and dinner service. I only had dinner here on my first night and the food was very nice, there is also a small but well chosen wine list. I really enjoyed the Bancroft Ridge Chardonnay with the Salmon. I ate out for Breakfast both days at cafes facing the beach. The room was comfortable, the bed and pillows were perfect & i slept well. With the room, when I noticed a couple of small things missing and notified the front desk they were rectified. The service was friendly and professional. The room has lovely views of the ocean. This is a comfortable and convenient place to stay for a weekend visit.

An excellent hotel in an easy and convenient part of Newcastle. Right next to the beach and shopping, restaurants and public transport. The restaurant Bistro Dalby has an excellent and reasonably priced menu. Giorgio and Grace in the Bistro were excellent staff and made our dinner special. Stay here if in Newcastle.

Nice staff on check-in. Very pleasant and helpful. Room was nice but TV did not work. Tried to ring reception but telephone did not work. Went downstairs and contacted reception who promptly fixed TV loose connection. Telephone could not be fixed. Settled in to watch the footy on Foxtel but Foxtel was flicking and unwatchable. Listened to the footy on the radio. Tried the internet which took several attempts to connect to. Tried another device. Same problem. Persistence needed but we got there. Wifi was fine until next day when we had the start up issues again. Prepare for a long shower as the water in nice and warm but the pressure is only moderate. Disappointing and a sad time overall. Room was tidy and the bed comfortable. Room was clean.
