High Expectations Dissappointing Results

When I stay at a Pullman I have high expectations and the reputation of Pullman Hyde Park gave me confidence that my expectations would be met. However: 1. My initial Impression was check in where there was no assistance with my bags - although the girl was polite. 2. I then moved my car to the car park which was filthy (discarded rubber/surgical gloves; litter takeaway food wrapping all over the place, floor covered in drink or other liquid stains - just an over view). 3. Went to my room and the toilet didn't flush - 2 days t fix with me flushing the toilet with the kettle. 4. Wanted to take a bottle of wine up to my room after dinner. After a couple of days, I found out that they were charging me restaurant prices and if I ordered as room service, the wine was $20 cheaper. On the next night, I asked if I could get the cheaper price if I ordered and took it up with me. The girl enquired and while I was accommodated, I was asked a few times who told me - it felt like an interrogation so they could punish the person. While the room itself was otherwise comfortable and the staff in general were polite - what I just described makes this a poor experience. I get it that the CORONA Virus response means a wound back service and I appreciate the pressure that the team is under to meet requirements for safety. But … I'll leave it at that.

We were very excited to have our first weekend away in 3 months, post COVID. Unfortunately the hotel was not quite ready for guests. The bar and restaurant were not open, the cafe was only open from 7am-6pm and the staffing was too low. Whilst it is difficult for hotels to deal with low occupancy post COVID, providing a lower level of service will not encourage guests to stay. Closed services should be advised by email when guests have made a booking, to manage expectations. We had a confirmed dinner booking that was cancelled at 3.30pm because the cafe was not open. We were offered room service or to sit alone in the cafe but we can do that at home. Luckily after making several phone calls we got a booking at Diethnes.

Just really average from the check in experience to the overall service levels. It’s a 3 star hotel from my experience. Good location and everything else is just average at best. Much better hotels to stay in around Sydney CBD than this one.

Very comfy room on the executive floor overlooking Hyde Park. Enjoyed the drinks and canapes in the Executive lounge. Very friendly stall and always helpful. A big surprise for my wife was the birthday cake, very nice. Thank you.

Not quite the stay we expected

We had booked 3 nights at the Pullman. When we arrived it was a bit early to check in so we went to the café to get some lunch. We were able to get into our room a bit before 2pm. The room was nice, very spacious and a lovely view over hyde park, however we didn't even stay one night, as when we returned from dinner, we discovered there was no hot water, and hadn't been any all day. We were not told this when we checked in, and there was no assurances that the issue would be fixed by the next morning. We did also hear from another guest that they had only had one hot shower in the last 3 days, so it was definitely a major issue. To the Pullman's credit they did offer to move us that night, and after some deliberation we decided to move that night. Pullman moved us to their sister property Swisotel in Market street and paid for the taxi to get us there. the next day we did get a call to tell us that the issues had been resolved and they would love for us to return. I am sure that we would have gotten an upgrade, and maybe other extras, but my husband didn't want the hassle of repacking and moving again so we stayed where we were. I would consider booking with the Pullman again, as they did their best to accommodate us.

We have stayed with a Pullman hotel several times and have nothing but praise. Actually we have stayed with a number of Accor hotels and they all exceed expectations. If we had to fault any thing with Hyde Park it would be, maybe change around the breakfast menu - it's always the same - always chipolatas how about some patties/meat balls, always baked beans, spaghetti would be nice, always streaky bacon that's chewy, mixture of streaky and eye bacon would be nice, no gluten free bread no lactose free milk, no tomato juice. Also there was no welcome folder in the room, nor instructions on how to use the TV or the coffee machine - not sure if it was just missing from our room or no room has them? We did suggest about it but didn't really get an answer.

I was a little disappointed with our stay - you are a 5 star hotel but missed the mark a few times - we had 4 adults in our room but only 2 coffee mugs instead of 4. We only had one shower gel to use for the whole family. Our room was tidied up on our second day but the new milk was left out and the toilet paper was left on the toilet instead of being put on the holder. We had to request new towels to be put up at the pool as all the towels were dirty. There wasn't a 'doorman' to help us with all our luggage when we arrived. The buffet breakfast was ok but nothing special - in fact I had to ask two different staff for a refill pot of tea. Overall the location and price made it worthwhile to stay at the Pullman but given it is a 5 star hotel I expected a higher level of service.

My stay at the Pullman was great, made even better by the wonderful staff that work there. Everyone you speak to has a smile on their face. What a great advertisement for the hotel. Will certainly stay there again. Location is superb, oppisite the Cenotaph.

My stay was all ok with a room of Hyde Park. The guest room itself is quite run down but still functional. The cleaning is ok. But what disappointed me is the breakfast. The breakfast room has a look of canteen and there are not variety of foods. There are no vegetable in the buffet line either. The breakfast room is busy and after 3 days you get bored of the same breakfast everyday. On my 1st morning I ordered eggs from egg station and had to wait 40-45 minutes! Staff at the lobby and breakfast are friendly though. I am an Accor gold member and received a usual complimentary which I appreciate. Going to stay there again, I am not sure.

The stay was great with not one issue or one negative thought, everything was perfect! The staff were helpful, the room was spacious and the location was superb for easy access to the city. I could not recommend the Pullmans on Hyde Park more highly.

以前シドニーではシティの中心に位置するサービスドアパートメントや他のホテルにも泊まったことがありましたが、便利さと引き換えに夜中でもサイレンの音が聞こえたりと騒がしく、こちらを選びました。 部屋にはシャワーだけでなく、大きなバスタブがあり、小さいながらも屋上のプールと、スパ、ジムがついており設備もしっかりしています。 他のサイトでは朝食が混み合っているとありましたが、そんな事は全くなく、その場で作られる焼きたてのパンケーキや卵料理をはじめとした朝食を楽しむ事ができました。 ロビーでサービスされているレモン入りのお水も暑い季節にありがたかったです。

The room was ok, would've been ideal if they replace the carpet as it's looking a bit tired. However the bed was very comfortable and having the Hyde Park view is very satisfying. Food at the buffet seems to be lacking a variety.

I keep coming back whenever I travel to Sydney - it is my go-to place. So friendly and responsive. Convenient to city and transport. Easy to reach from Sydney airport by taxi, Uber or train. Super location with Hyde Park just acrodd the road.

今回は90歳になる母を連れて滞在しました。快適な滞在となりました。母は、もう一度シドニーに行きたい、また同じホテルに泊まりたいと言っております。食事は朝食しかいただけませんでいたが、大変美味しかったです。夕食もいただきたいです。

great location. great value for money. breakfast was great. Swimming pool is bit small. Staffs are very friendly. This is our first stay and overall, it met my expectation for a 5 star hotel in Sydney.

Hotel was busy on Boxing day ,we stayed there for 2 nites. Check in fast ,polite and welcoming and that's about where the friendliness and smiling finished. Breakfast on two mornings busy but no good morning, staff under pressure and dis organised, Coffees 20 minute wait both days...food good . Great location and plenty of options around for entertainment etc.

We had a great stay. Our room was clean and spacious. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. The upholstery in the Exec lounge needs a clean however - it does subtract from overall standard of the setting.
