A peaceful night in Paris.

We wanted a hotel close to the station but slightly misjudged the distance.It turned out to be a 25 minute walk from Gare de Lyon, but we were happy when we arrived at the hotel. It was small but worked well. Check in and then up to the room which was small but not cramped. Bathroom was ok. We slept well and went down for a light breakfast along the usual Frenc lines. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel and area was quiet at night A taxi was booked to the station which came on time and it all went well.

Overpaid for a property that makes a Motel 6 look like the Ritz

Unfortunately we ended up in Paris the weekend of the Champions League Final. So rooms were limited and apparently the hotel chains do not have any shame about selling inferior properties for exorbitant rates. We left before the Championship final day, but our room was an average of $283 for the three nights we were there. I would have felt that I was fleeced at $100. At $283 it felt like extortion. The hotel as other have mentioned is tired and badly in need in renovation. The seating area in the breakfast area is badly worn/torn. Additionally we were greeted by the homeless sleeping on the street right outside the hotel's door. The surrounding street is mostly run down and vacant. We were in six major cities all over Europe this trip. This was the only area I would not walk back to the hotel after dark. When we checked into our $283 average a night room, we were greeted with two bath towels and nothing else. No water, hand towels, nothing. The first attempt at taking a shower was an abysmal experience. After squeezing into the shoebox size shower and getting the water adjusted. I discovered that the soap dispenser in the shower was empty. So they're too cheap to provide toiletries but they can't even make sure their general purpose gel soap is available. The front desk personnel were competent but sadly they're unable to fix the things that are wrong with this property. This was my first Ibis experience. It will be my last one. Plus with their willingness to sell this property for $400 a night (my last night's rate). I won't ever stay at another Acor property. These folks have no conscience.

Very good location, close to 2 lines 1 and 8. Breakfast is good and fresh. 24h reception. room is a bit small but convenient as well as bathroom. Close by very nice street in the evening to have nice dinner. Tho only issue is the disturbance done from time to time due to vibration and noise that seems to be from Metro.

I've enjoyed my stay at Ibis Hotel. The rooms are very clean, people are extremely nice and helpful! Hotel location is excellent - close to two metro stations (Line 8 and 1)! I would definitely come here again!

Tired hotel that needs investment

A standard Ibis but a tired one. A thin and worn mattress. Air conditioning that kept failing (as it does in many rooms apparently). There was dry faeces on the toilet seat too when I arrived. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. Needs a thorough revamp urgently though.
