Fantastic restaurant where we all had our breakfast and lunch most days. Makes a great coffee. Onny, one of the waitstaff, was not only exceptionally helpful and friendly, but also made an effort to call the outback Bar and BBQ to find out whether I could take champagne along to toast the newly weds during our final dinner there. She truly made this a fun experience. Lea at the Pira poolside bar was a star and makes a fantastic mojito, and Cyrus at the front desk was always helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you to all of you for making this an outstanding experience for us all.

A perfect choice for our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. The staff were really friendly and accomodating which means the manager Leon Pink understands the importance and the wellbeing of his customers. The hotel is large and very clean and there was plenty of room to sit. A concierge is a great option to have to ask lots of questions and during our return flight they take care of the luggage whilst we could enjoy the remainder of our stay.The buffet breakfast was plentiful and good value for money especially if you had a big day ahead of you doing tours etc. Our room was amazing. Room 374. It was in a quiet part of the hotel with views of Uluru. Thank you to the staff for creating a memorable stay.

This is a very well managed hotel with attractive public area, great staff and pleasant rooms. There seem to be a lot of tour groups and travel agents staying which can mean the more popular excursions get fully booked. The Sounds of Silence dinner out in the red sands below Uluru is amazing (how they put on a silver service three course meal here is beyond me). At the end of the dinner a knowledgeable guide explains the Southern sky and how the indigenous used the constellation movements to guide hunting. Strangely, little things need fixing like some of the breakfast buffet hot food containers are either broken or don’t work, which is weird for such a hotel.

Great breakfast, with good dinner options in the extended complex. Nice swimming pool and open space for families to enjoy the sun and surrounds. Staff were helpful and friendly, with exception at checkin which was less than welcoming. The location is so close to Uluru

We recently stayed at Sails in the Desert for 3 nights, lovely resort hotel, large and comfortable room, with lovely new bathroom. The only thing that didn’t meet our expectations was the restaurant. We are not big fans of buffet food anyway, due to the fact that my husband is a coeliac, but there is no other option at Sails other than to find somewhere else to eat. Fortunately both the restaurants at Desert Gardens, cater to coeliacs with most of their menus offering many Gluten Free options. We were very happy to eat there for our three nights. On our final morning before our flight we decided to try the breakfast buffet at Sails, at $98 for 2. I’d read many reviews about this and on entering we asked to be shown the Gluten Free section, no such thing, you just have to wing it really, there’s no cereals, only small plain yoghurt, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon and gluten free bread that you have to ask for behind the counter. Well my husband was able to have a fairly substantial breakfast out of what was available but nothing compared to what I was able to have. Then the chef brought out to us two Gluten free sealed banana breads, that he’d found in the kitchen, this was really thoughtful, as I believe even the staff realise the limitations of what is available for coeliacs. It wasn’t until we returned home, we find we were charged extra for the banana bread an extra $6. This really is just rude.
