This was one of our most expensive hotels we've stayed in, and we were excited to book based on pictures and descriptions that showcased a luxurious hotel. However, it was not luxury. The rooms were really outdated (older carpets, and the bathrooms had stains everywhere. We came with another family who had bug issues and had to be moved to a different room. This caused delays with our schedule and planned activities too. Ultimately, we felt it was way overpriced for what we got.

Good base for Uluru

Desert gardens is a good base for a visit to Uluru. Our tours of the rock both did pick ups at Desert Gardens. The food available was good, particularly the buffet breakfast at Mangata restaurant. The garden view room was comfortable although the wifi was a bit patchy and we had noisy neighbours on one of the three nights. The gardens are beautiful and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

The Wintjiri Wiru After Dark drone show was a no show. We watched a 10min laser show. Save your money was too expensive for what was delivered. Very disappointing. No stars rating. For 3 people we paid over $500 for 10 min laser show in the cold.

To say that this hotel is worth the price is unfortunately false, I apologise for my harsh statement but non-value of those level deserves frank language. The tv did not support many channels (NEWS and Kids tv) and the bights after sunset were spent lying in the comfortable mattress just sitting there. The bedroom was nice but this bathroom was simply outdated and not functional for four people. This room was good but not for the price point paid. It is important to note the positives such as the great room service and lovely staff, but the relevant flaws mentioned are simply to big to foresee and hence I would recommend that this room is only used for 3 people max. Anything more is too cluttered with little privacy. This is one of the flaws along with the outdated decor and poor views.

A luxury break in a camper van trip!

We left the camper van in the carpark and enjoyed a little luxury at Yulara, just using the camper van for sightseeing. The hotel is lovely and our room had a great view of the 'rock'. We had dinner in each of the restaurants and they were excellent. We walked to the nearby Town Square for breakfast each morning. Friendly staff from all over the world, as well as local aboriginal people.

Thank you for staying with us! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your time at Ayers Rock Resort and hope to welcome you back again.
