We stayed at an Ibis in Amsterdam in 2022 and had a nice experience there. When we were planning our trip to Vienna, we saw this location near the train station and were sold. We wanted to be near a train station since we were coming in from Munich and knew we were going to utilize the metro/trains. The location was so convenient and in a really nice area, despite it being across the the street from the hbf. Usually hotels in these areas can be a little seedy, but this was very nice. Vienna overall is very clean and nice city for being so big! The rooms are small but they have everything you need. Beds weren't the most comfortable, but it was ok. There's an Aldi downstairs across the way and some nice restaurants. It's a 2 min walk to the train station and metros. Price point was good, we stayed a whole week. There's a bar and restaurant as well, but we didn't use it. Would recommend if you want to be near a train station, which also happens to have a lot of restaurants and shops if you're in a pinch!

Excellent location just a walk away from Wien HBf. staff were very helpful and accommodated our small requests like extra pillows with no fuss. I just wish there was an electric kettle in the room. Otherwise had a great stay. I recommend you stay here or the Novotel nearby if you have train trips outside Vienna.

I stayed at the Ibis Wien Hauptbanhof on a friends trip to Austria and Hungary in October, 2024. Clearly, the incentive to stay here is the proximity to Vienna's central rail station, which is exactly the reason why my friends and I booked the hotel. We stayed here a total of three different times over the course of two weeks. The check in was very efficient (although we did do the pre-check in online). The hotel is clean, has modern decor, and all the amenities one would need in a hotel. Sure, the room wasn't the largest, there wasn't any sort of toiletries except for the soap/shamboo combo in the shower and by the sink, and everything else was very straightforward, BUT, if you want a perfectly serviceable hotel a minute away from the train station, this fits the bill. Also, they seem to cater to the Asian market, if that makes a difference. In fact, they advertise their "Asian Breakfast Buffet" in the elevators. No fitness room at the hotel.

The location of this hotel is superb. It is a 2-minute walk from the central station. There are many restaurants and supermarkets within the vicinity. The breakfast and service were good. The room was comfortable. I can recommend this as a good place to stay in Vienna.

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times already due to its convenience. However, i have to say that next time, I will choose a different hotel. First, amenities in the room are getting more and more limited: during my last stay we didnt get a kettle and tea/coffee in our room. We also had only one towel per person. No hand towel. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable the past time. The mattress is becoming used up, having a hole in the middle, pillows were so hard that you couldnt lay on them. People at the reception are more and more rude. Nightly rates for the room also increased. I used to love this hotel because of the convenient location at the train station, but next time I will rather try one of the other hotels in this location.
