Great Experience for our trip to Lucerne

My friend and I spent a week in Switzerland and Lucerne was our final city prior to returning home. ibis Styles was one of our favorite hotels! The location was great for us; an easy walk from the train station, an easy walk to the Lion Monument and the Glacier Museum, and an easy walk to the Old Town. We also loved having the Coop Supermarket and restaurant across from us. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was very small, and we couldn't figure out how to keep the shower head up, but it wasn't enough of an issue to complain to management. My chief complaint, and this is not a big one, was that the safe in the room did not have instructions in the inside of it and after locking it, I had to get help from multiple employees to open it! We learned that the safe had just been replaced before we arrived and it would just be helpful to have instructions for users since it wasn't super intuitive.

Lovely 3 star hotel in Lucerne city

Approx 12-15 mins walk from the train station. Or CHF14 by taxi. Minutes away from the Lion Monument and the lake. With good bus support and supermarket nearby. The rooms are nice with balcony. Breakfast is available and all day coffee and tea is available. The staff are professional and helpful. The hotel also provides a free bus and train pass which is very helpful. Excellent for exploring the town. Recommended

We stayed here for 4 nights during Lucerne Festival. We chose this hotel primarily based on its location, which is actually better than I expected. The main train station and the KKL concert hall are within walking distances, and a bus stop is also close by. The Korean lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She explained the public transportation and hotel features in every detail. Our room (Standard Room, 1 King bed) was small, as I expected. There was very little space for storage as in other 'IBIS'-brand hotels. The bathroom was basic. It was difficult to close the shower door completely. After a few days, we learned a trick or two that prevented water from being leaked out. The breakfast buffet was OK. With decent selection of hot and cold dishes. One could get free coffee or tea from the breakfast cafe all day, which was very good. One thing we did not like about the hotel, other than the small room size, was the cleanliness. Because of the lack of space, we put our carry-on luggage underneath the bed. When we pulled it out, it was covered in dust. That led us to inspect the cleanliness of other parts of the room. Well, they should have done a better job at vacuuming the room and the bathroom. Overall, it was a decent choice for the price. I might choose to pay more for a cleaner and/or larger room if I go back to Lucerne.
