under covid 19 restrictions, breakfast in a bag if your lucky and it arrives, bar nearly open, restraunt ok ish, bill at the end of a pre paid pre booked stay could have been interesting, ( price of rooms dependent on how busy the hotel is ) but argued the point and got it sorted, generally I think the hotel could have tried a bit harder,

Nice hotel. Good pool, sauna and steam room. Staff very nice. I had to switch rooms as the noise from the traffic in my original room was very disturbing. Staff moved me with no fuss. New room had just been refurbished so I think some work was left to do - mainly light bulbs not working. Also the fan in the bathroom didn't work. I'm sure this will be picked up and remedied however.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Dogs were welcomed.( we have two small dachshunds)My husband and I are disabled and need sticks to walk, and the hotel does not seem to cater specifically for Disabled .We had only asked for ground floor, so don't know if they do cater for disabled. No heating in or near bathrooom , and it was very cold.The entrance doors, were very difficult to use. staff brilliant. .

A bit expensive

Compared to other hotels this is a bit expensive. The furnitures of the room are very old. No lift service. Long passage through couple of doors to reach the room. The room was quite small for family with kids.

Overall good. Restaurant in the evening and breakfast very nice. Bar area pleasant. Rooms a bit tired. A few picky things - Hairdryer did not work, iron holder missing from wall, dusty on wendskirting and ceiling. A bit more care with cleaning and attention to detail would help.

A relaxing overnight

We were down from Cheshire to pick up a car. Tired after a lot of driving, the hotel provided comfort and convenience. Attentive staff and clean comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and a welcoming breakfast team.

Unfortunately this hotel did not inspire. The rooms are not air-conditioned, although fans are supplied. Not allowed to open the windows fully, due to health and safety. The hot water failed on Sunday morning. The receptionist could confirm resolution, because unable to get hold of the manager or maintenance. No compensation offered, but others were. The internet failed too and the Sunday morning. The bar staff and the party staff were good. Overall disappointed.

Hotel in need of a refurbishment, trouser press fell to bits and washbasin was badly cracked. Bedroom window had dropped and required lifting to shut it. this may sound negative but the staff and food were every good but hampered by lack maintenance of the building.

Have stayed here several times, always found the staff friendly and helpful, the rooms good,although some could do with new windows. Breakfast pretty good as well. Its a handy place fro us as family near by.

I paid for this trip for son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. They live in Lancashire so we don't see a lot of them. They loved the swimming, and the breakfasts. We saw them every day and it was wonderful to have them so close. They will be very happy to stay again.

A tad pretentious - more concerned with coach tours than the business traveller

An average hotel in a good location; however, priority is given to coach tours, which limits availability in the dining room and causes delays in service. Breakfast was served on time and was hot, but the orange juice was of poor quality.

Wonderful staff who were always attentive throughout meals, check-in process and using the facilities. Great pool and sauna. Good breakfast and restaurant food was good. Well priced too. Rooms could do with a bit of an update but still very comfortable.

In need of a makeover

The front of house staff are welcoming and work hard. However, cleaning is of a poor standard and the bedding and towels have long since seen better days. Towels are so thin and hard it hurts your skin to dry with them and I had holes in one of my pillow cases. The quality of the cooked breakfast is not of a standard expected and experienced in other Mercure hotels.

2 night B&B with dinner first night and breakfast

First time stay at this hotel for my wife and I. We were greeted with a smile by the female receptionist who booked us in. Booked a table for dinner at 7.15 p.m. then went to our room which was okay for what we wanted. Dinner was good as was breakfast both mornings. All staff treated us as if we were special and made our 2 night break very good. The hotel was reasonably busy, but the staff managed very well, kept tables in restaurant very clean and continued to make them available for guest's. Definitely recommend and my wife and I will return sometime in the future.

The Front Office Manager was not able to burn my points as I am a member and I lose them. Very disappointed with the Receptionist behaviour at the check out time. She was annoyed to listen my problem and she even understood what it was about. I not recommend this hotel to the le clubmembers and to any Accor employee as our rights and benefits are not recognised at the Mercure in Kent due to unprofessional management front office staff

Nice room good facilities, fab blackout curtains . My one complaint bought a bottle of water in the bar did expect to pay over the odds but £2.80 for a small bottle of water . Didn’t have breakfast as we thought it was a bit pricey

This was a return trip to the "HAPPIEST HOTEL IN THE WORLD". The staff are so friendly and their genuine concern that guests have a wonderful time at the hotel. Room was large and comfortable, on-site restaurant's food was good with competitive pricing. What impressed me was that staff asked me if I remembered them, as they remembered me. Full marks go to all staff, but especially Toni and Freddy. The Manager should be proud of his hotel and his staff. Well Done Sir!

After an enjoyable Remembrance Concert at the assembly halls in Tunbridge Wells, we decided to complete the experience with an overnight stay in The Mercure Hotel.Our choice of hotel was based on 1st its good location on the edge of the Town and the former reputation of the Accor Brand.

Clean hotel and helpful employees. A warm greeting on arrival at reception and in the dinning areas. Bedroom comfortable. Only doanside is thst you can hear other guest talking in the corridors as they pass by and the squeaking floor boards in the overhead rooms.

This hotel was disappointing. The room decor and public areas were in need of decorating and the bathroom shabby for the money paid. Not the usual Accor hotel's quality standards. I would not return to this hotel.
