Arrived after a 3 hour drive and 10 hour shift to be told i could not check in to the room that had been booked for me due to a computer fault and hotel being over booked by 35 people. there was 6 are more couples in the same situation. was told to wait half an hour and nothing still was sorted. so decided i was that tired i would sleep in car.

Wow! Oh dear me,where to begin? We arrived to find one member of staff on reception to check in a coach load of us. Poor girl called Miracles, her computer system let one person check in then didn't work! She told us it may be an hour/ hour and a half before someone could sort it out! Albeit not her fault if the system breaks but the manager was allegedly not on site or contactable to sort it! No organisation,apparently the rooms weren't allocated or cleaned so no check in! Needed to leave for London at 4 & no rooms sorted. I had emailed to complain at the terrible check in and no response! Thank you Kayleigh Marney for ruining the experience! I believe she rocked up at some point but denied who she was! The coach driver had to chivvy things up,very grateful to him! The room we had was OK. Dodged a bullet there but no mattress protectors or heating that worked in the room! Cold plates at breakfast & slow to top up breakfast items,plenty of staff but not really doing anything! Overall a spoilt trip and no apology from Mercure! Well done!

Enjoyable stay. We had a lovely clean comfortable room. Good quality bathroom products and plenty of tea and biscuits. Restaurant service and food for both our evening meal and buffet breakfast was very good. Friendly helpful staff. We would definitely use the hotel again .

I don't know where to start with this review it's that bad here it's laughable. Stayed as part of a theatre break with omega and they should hang there head in shame sending people here! I appreciate its a budget hotel but it's not even clean. We changed room three times and all equally dirty and in need of decorating, they smell too (awful) a cross between damp and dirt. We arrived and the lady on reception couldn't check us in as the computer was down, didn't know which rooms were clean (none of them is my guess). Said the manger would arrive in an hour to sort out (new receptionist been here a week), when Kayleigh did show up said she wasnt the manager there isn't one and off sick and did little to alleviate a bus load if peoples grievances. Your telling me a huge corporate chain like mecure but couldn't get anyone on phone to speak too. First allocated room after 1.5 hours in reception. Was initially given a key and walked in on people getting changed as room already in use (huge security risk) When we arrived in the third room god awful stain carpets, holes in wall and dirty sheets (and I mean dirty looked like urine of blood stained ). Managed to find a chamber maid in the corridor to come and change bed. She did so but when stripping the bed (no mattress protection) we saw the state of the mattress underneath (equally stained ). We flipped the mattress and she remade the bed. Pillows are dirty and so thin (my dog has a better pillow in his bed). No food available on a Saturday afternoon (not that I'd want to risk it, no staff for the bar). Lots of other small issues tea tray with 1 tea bag, no remote for TV, no information on breakfast etc. I appreciate the budget but cleanliness is a must. Had we not been stuck by being in a caoch trip 100% would not have stayed it really is that bad. The hotel needs closing down. Asked at reception for a formal complaint procedure given an email for the lady who "wasnt a manger" and she'd pass it on. Clearly short staffed across all areas of the hotel. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Omega will also be getting feedback they should be ashamed to associate themselves with this quality.

Hotel need updating stayed for murder mystery night what we got for Christmas , food was nice but no bread roll with the soups and no wine with dinner either I think they forgot, bar man very good - the room was ok but does need bit of TLC or a upgrade towels were dirty one very how the cleaner didn’t spot is unbelievable so we just shared , don’t no if would use again be honest only 1 coffee each in room same with tea bag’s travolodge and premier inn miles better !!!
