I will tell everyone not to bother the room stunk of cigarette smoke, the receptionist wasn't helpful at all just looked at me and said I can't find your reservation, id paid over £140 for that we left as soon as we arrived avoid it like the plague!!!! And I will be getting a refund take a look at my Google reviews there's a few followers on there.
Dear twoodward876 I am sorry you had to write this review. My staff are usually complimented on their level of service to guests, this is most unusual. We have a strict non smoking policy in the hotel, all windows in rooms are opened during and after servicing. I will contact you via email.

Miles away from anything Pillows were flat as a pancake No aircon or fans in the room as sun comes straight through window Breakfast was a joke waited an hour to get served and to charge 13.99 for that was a rip off
Dear smudger120 I am sorry you did not like the location of the hotel. The location is clear in all of our advertising, most people favour the location due to its accessibility to major motorways. We would have replaced or offered more pillows, if we were made aware of your displeasure. Unfortunately, our hotel does not offer air conditioning and neither to we advertise the fact. Fans are available, if requested, from reception. Service is taking longer than normal, this is due to staff shortages and new staff being trained.

Always a pleasure to stay here, great value and friendly staff. For hotel accommodation in this bracket one really can't fault what they provide. It hasn't been easy for hoteliers during this time but at the Mercure Hatfield they have found a way to offer hospitality that meets this business travellers needs.

All inclusive stay - Bar/ Restaurant/ reception staff were brilliant. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. Due to the Covid situation the buffet dinner is replaced by a bar menu - The food choices were limited and had high supplement charges where a bit steep. But all in all a pleasant stay and a day out trip to St Albans.

I think because of the Corona Virus some hotels lost their wish to satisfy their clients. I asked for some Ice. Answer from reception: Only in the bar, and the ice will come with the drink order. Really? I had to go out of hotel and walk a lot just to get some ice. It was justified by the new rules of safety of corona virus. In which sense giving me the ice can spread the virus? Very bad experience. Not planning to return so soon to this hotel.
