Title: Deeply Disappointing Stay – Wrong Room, Poor Service, and Unprofessional Manager

My wife and I were really looking forward to this trip, but the experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. After two cancelled flights and a long detour, we reached the hotel late at night. Despite notifying the hotel in advance and booking a Superior King Room, we were told our room had been “sold” and were placed in a tiny standard room with a small window in the corner. The night receptionist refused to help, and I was told a manager would contact me the next day—but nobody ever did. A different staff member later apologized, admitted we had been put in the wrong room, and moved us to the correct one. She also assured us the first night would be refunded. However, at checkout, the refund was not applied and the staff knew nothing about it. When I asked to speak to a manager, the General Manager, Greg Black, came out without introducing himself and was extremely rude and dismissive. He interrupted repeatedly, refused to listen, and denied that any staff member had spoken to me—even though CCTV would clearly prove otherwise. Overall: Wrong room given No follow-up from management Refund promised but not given Very poor communication Shockingly unprofessional behavior from the General Manager This was a stressful and disappointing experience, especially after a difficult journey. I hope the hotel takes this seriously, because the level of service we received was far below acceptable standards.

Great location but very dated

Location great. We'd arrived by train at Euston and were in London for a theatre visit and this hotel was about mid-way between the two so perfect location. It's on a very busy tourist street with a great atmosphere and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Apart from the bar, the hotel is dated and in need of a full refurbishment. Threadbare carpets, old chipped wooden furniture, basic shower over bath combo, one old fashioned, basic and very dusty lift for the entire hotel, robes provided but they shed lots of fibres leaving white fluff everywhere. Decent selection of toiletries and teas/coffee but no Nespresso machine and you had to ask for all the extra amenities such as toothbrush/ paste and a vanity kit. Very soft mattress but we slept VERY well. This, along with the great location, are the main reasons for a 3* review otherwise it would have been lower. Whilst reception staff were really friendly and professional the ambiance wasn't with very loud explicit-lyrics rap music blaring out in the lobby on both the Friday and Saturday night. Completely inappropriate.

Not worth the price, there are better options

The location is great and the staff is friendly, that’s it. For the rest, it is very disappointing and not worth the price. First of all, there was a strong and persistent smell of cigarette in my room: totally unacceptable. Then, the hotel is ageing, the bedding is really of a poor quality, my shower was weak and not well maintained, the bathroom tiny (any normal size person will be touching the wall while sitting on the toilet!). And for this price, you do not even have one small bottle of water in the room. Definitely not the right choice in this part of London.

Cold and sad

The staff was very professional and this was the highlight of the stay. The room with no windows on the ground floor with a hole in the ceiling doesn’t make you feel good plus the lights are pretty awful. Make sure you don’t get the ground floor room. But what is worst is that the entire ground floor seems to have a failed heating system. Just next door is the restaurant where breakfast is served in the warmth and the nice atmosphere. And behind the door where the ground floor rooms are the difference in temperature is significant. In the room there are two dials that should increase temperature, one is like a heating or air-conditioning dial. Having put both to max and the heating to 30° c - nothing was working. The room is absolutely freezing so make sure you don’t stay there when it’s cold outside. Unless you love sleeping in 15 degrees. Some people do. And getting that for £350 sort of sad.

Mam mieszane uczucia co do pobytu. Z jednej strony lokalizacja bardzo dobra, bardzo pomocny personel, smaczne śniadanie, wygodne łóżka. Z kolejnych plusów w pokoju czajnik i herbata, żelazko. Natomiast niestety były też duże minusy. Pokój był sprzątnięty tylko powierzchownie. Wszędzie bardzo bardzo dużo starego kurzu. Pokoje wymagają gruntownego sprzątania, odkurzania z odsuwaniem mebli. Taki kurz jest niebezpieczny dla zdrowia. Dodatkowym minusem jest widok na ścianę z pokoju. Do tego zimno w łazience i zepsuty grzejnik w łazience.
