Lovely stay in great location

Lovely stay location very convenient for train stations and Covent Garden so central. Rooms very clean, windows opened, beds very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful especially Jason and Magdalena both very professional and efficient

The worst stay we’ve had in London by far. We don’t expect palatial rooms in London unless you’re paying very high end but this hotel was not cheap and the room was ridiculously small and very badly laid out! - The entrance door hit the bed so you have to squeeze through the remaining gap to get in. - the furniture was very cheap and the layout was very bad. The room could have been reorganised to at least allow guests to access the room without the door hitting the bed. - the bathroom was the worst design ever and the toilet was squeezed in next to large sink. The top of the sink unit was made from stone/marble and overhung the sink unit by about 2” all round, making the shoulder space to sit on the toilet ridiculously restrictive. I am only 5’2” and not a large person but anyone bigger than this would not be able to sit on the toilet at all. - The heated towel rail (with a notice next to it saying that it gets very hot) was right next to the toilet which means your leg touched it when sitting on the toilet so you had to use a towel in between your leg and the heater) again, I am only 5’2” so anyone taller would have much more if their legs touching this very hot towel rail. This could have easily been mounted higher up the wall thereby avoiding the toilet altogether. - the tap on bathroom sink was the wrong size and was meant for a small handbasin which means that there was no space to wash your hands under the water running from the tap - the electrical sockets were all badly connected and any appliances kept starting/stopping when trying to use them. The electrics need checking as a priority in this hotel, it really feels unsafe!! - there was no mini-fridge - most if the staff we saw of looked unapproachable, unfriendly and unhelpful (which is also reflected in feedback from others). It really was a disappointing experience but after reading the reviews (stupidly after our stay rather than before), there is clearly no point in complaining as people have been saying similar things over the last year or two and clearly nothing has changed despite the hotel responding to say that they will take comments on board etc. it feels a pointless process to contact the hotel only to be fobbed off with the same meaningless platitudes. I really expected better from this group of hotels who we do use regularly across the country. This one in London is a very poor example.

Excellent customer service. An absolute gentleman serving at the bar . Fabulous hotel and restaurant. Cosy environment with beautiful wines and cocktails. A must while in London..Reasonably priced for London drinks and food wise. Upon exciting the place the staff were so friendly. Cool music also really really relaxing and brought back memories.

Solid choice for a stay

The hotel met expectations—nothing exceptional but also nothing disappointing. The room was spacious, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was decent, offering a good start to the day. The location was a highlight for me. With Holborn Station nearby, it was easy to get around the city, and there were some good dining options in the area. One standout was the receptionist from Sudan—very helpful and friendly. Overall, a solid choice for a stay. Not a luxury experience, but you won’t be disappointed.

A wonderful location with a lovely staff

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Bloomsbury. The location was perfect and we were able to get everywhere on the tube. The staff were particularly wonderful and I wished we remembered all their names but a shout out to Begunm, who we were sad to see wasn’t there on our last day. The room was fine though the king sized mattress had a dip in the middle. We did, however, always have a lovely hot shower. We also enjoyed the breakfast as part of our package which had many nice options, though some things ran out towards the end of the breakfast time as expected. We highly recommend the Mercure which provides good service at a reasonable price.
