The reason for my "poor" rating is the location of the hotel. The Ibis Contagem is situated within a industrial area directly besides the 24 hrs busy and very noisy highway BR 040. And since we are in Brazil, the windows of the hotel rooms facing the highway are not of the double pane type as in Europe or the US, which means a loud environment in the room. In my case the window closing mechanism was even malfunctioning, which meant more noise. I changed the room, but it was still noisy. The only escape is to ask for a room facing the industrial area and not the highway, which in my case it was fully booked. The Ibis Contagem room has also the hideous window curtain, which covers not only the window, but half of the table. The cleanliness of the room was just average. Two plus points: the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent and the staff was superfriendly. On-site parking is free. But for me once is enough in this hotel.

Uitstekend hotel maar wel in een buitenwijk, langs de grote weg, Rio/São Paulo- Brasilia.

Heb vroeger opmerkingen gemaakt over wegwijzers naar het hotel en slechte service bij inchecken (duurde veel te lang) maar dat is allemaal keurig opgelost. Dus er wordt echt naar je geluisterd! Wij zijn heel tevreden met Ibis Contagem! We komen daar regelmatig en voelen ons daar thuis.

A hotel on the outskirt of Belo Horizonte, right beside a highway which is lined with industry and is great for those travelling by car and does not want to go into the city. It's a hotel mainly for people who's on a business trip visiting nearby industry sites. There is no restaurants or minimart on the surrounding but the attendant told us that there is a shopping center somewhat nearby. We were there for a night which happens to be a saturday so the hotel was very quiet. They serve buffet dinner but not on weekend.
