Sofitel Dubai Corniche – Disappointing and Not Up to Brand Standard

On first impressions, the Sofitel Dubai Corniche appears pleasant enough. As Diamond members, we were upgraded to a suite, which was appreciated — however, unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. There was no check-in experience at Club Millésime. When queried, the receptionist suggested this was because the hotel is a “city hotel”, which is simply not accurate and inconsistent with other Sofitel properties. The pool area was particularly disappointing. The pool bar felt tired and poorly maintained, with a sideboard adjacent to the bar showing visible disrepair, including doors hanging off. Much of the area appeared to allow smoking, detracting further from the experience, and the upper level was closed due to works. When we went to sit inside the poolside area, a staff member behind the counter was bent over his phone and did not even acknowledge our presence. Returning to the lifts, we encountered cigarette ends, ash, and used tissues on the floor — unacceptable for a hotel of this brand. Club Millésime itself was one of the weaker iterations we’ve experienced. Service was slow, not enough servers, the snack offering was limited, and the overall atmosphere was lacking — a stark space with little ambience, despite being very busy. Overall, this stay was a significant disappointment. Compared with other Sofitel hotels in Dubai — and indeed Sofitels we have stayed in around the world — this property does not feel special, refined, or reflective of the brand we know. Sadly, we will not return.

Остались очень положительные впечатления от отеля, дружелюбный персонал, удобное расположение (отель легко найти), вкусный завтрак в формате шведского стола, есть трансфер до некоторых достопримечательностей, также очень удобно, что на территории отеля есть супермаркет Номера тоже уютные и удобные, все нужное есть, так что наше пребывание в Абу-Даби было очень комфортным, спасибо персоналу Sofitel!

We stayed for a week in a club suite and had a superb experience. Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and mouth with a delicious selection every morning. The website does not mention it but there is a free return shuttle to take you to the beach from the hotel. The highlight of the hotel was the club lounge Richard was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. He looked after us every single evening with exceptional attention to detail, from drinks and food to ensuring we had everything we needed, including cutlery and overall comfort. He consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well cared for. Richard is an incredibly attentive and professional individual, and his service truly enhanced our experience at your hotel. He is a real credit to Sofitel and the Club Millésime team. Please pass on our sincere thanks and appreciation to him. PS: sort out the lift logic !!! Having been up and down on many occasions
