Very good apart from a smell in the room couldn't find where it came from so got air fresheners

I am really sorry you experienced a poor first impression of your room due to a smell, I have communicated your complaint to the housekeeping manager and she will investigate what happened and ensure this does not happen to any other rooms. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and if this ever happens again when staying with us make sure you make any member of our team aware and we will be able to assist straight away in order to make your stay more enjoyable. It is great to see you otherwise had an enjoyable stay with us and I hope you had a fantastic time exploring all that Belfast has to offer, we have so many great sites to see only minutes away from the hotel so I hope you liked the local area. Please accept my apologies on behalf of the whole hotel. We hope you will give us another chance and stay with us again as I can assure you this stay was not indicative of our usual standard. Room was clean, check in took quite awhile only one staff member checking in. There was a delay with the laundry and while the room had been cleaned it was 7.30pm by the time the duvet cover for our bed arrived.

Nice, comfy room. Bright bathroom and big mirror so you can actually see to put on your make up. In an excellent location, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was very well located, room was very basic, twin beds pushed together & mattress was very thin. Served breakfast in a cardboard box which was not great for the price.

Please allow me to send our sincere apologies with regards to the way breakfast was presented to you, over the weekend we had a staffing issue, with several members of the team having to isolate after being contacted by track and trace, thankfully no team members have covid and it is not connected to the hotel but legally they had to isolate for 10 days. We responded to the staffing emergency by making things easier in the kitchen for the team working by serving breakfast in take away bags, ready to hand out straight away, to save any delay, we sincerely apologise that it wasn't served on a plate like it usually is, we hope to be back on track very shortly. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope you understand this was due to unforeseen circumstances and that the service you experienced was not to our usual standard. We got off the ferry and passed through Belfast on the way to visiting Northern Ireland. The ibis was a good first stop with a great breakfast and comfy bed.

Challenging experience

2nd recent stay., 25th - 27th July We arrived shortly after 3pm to find out room not ready had to wait nearly another hour as v short staff girl on reception really professional and pleasant. Received free drink while waiting. Running late for dinner got to shower hose was broken. Went to reception and was asked did we mind moving room as it would be easier at this point I said yes as we were going to be late dinner and we Had unpacked . Keys wouldn't work on door had to get another. My partner and myself sat down for breakfast and went got or tea/ coffee fruit etc whilst waiting on cooked breakfast. Girl serving food hit my partners coffee cup and the scalding hot coffee went all over his clothes and legs and as he was wearing shorts he was in pain. She was apologetic etc but spoiled our last day together I was so worried about him. He went up get cold shower for burn and change clothes clean shoes etc. At this point got our hot breakfast removed and guy cleaned up spillage. I asked for manager as it needed to go into accident book. At no point was he offered burn cream I had to ask. We were refunded our breakfast but honestly don’t feel this was enough. My partner is v patient and understanding but he still received quite a shock. When he came down to me I could see he was in pain he had to go up room again to get cold water on burn. I did ask for burn cream with manager brought over to me but couldn’t give me it as needed to ask my partner if he was allergic to anything. I went to room he was still in shower running cold water on burn. Then we’d to check out knock at door guy with burn cream which we took and applied he didn’t ask one question about being allergic so we could of had cream an hour earlier? Hotel did offer late checkout but again too late as we’d packed and ready to leave as it was after 12. I know this was an accident but reactions could of been a bit faster and more into reducing the pain than offering £20 refund. Staff were friendly but this experience at ibis certainly isn’t one we’d like repeated.

Good Afternoon Jonathan, Thank you for your response, I am so sorry your partner had a negative experience whilst staying with us, I would firstly like to ask how his leg is and if the pain has eased? as this is the most important concern here. I have seen the accident report and spoke to the whole team with regards to the incident that took place yesterday and I can assure you the girl who spilt the coffee is extremely sorry and was sent home after the incident as she was extremely upset about what had happened and was unable to complete her shift due to being visibly emotional and uncomfortable, so I would like to pass on her apologies. She only started working for us on Friday 23rd of July and was already very nervous. With regards to the burn cream unfortunately the manager on shift was unable to hand it over to yourself as Mr Da Silva declined medical treatment including an ice pack or gel to cool the skin on 2 occasions so Emma felt it was better to speak to the patient himself to ensure he wanted the cream, that’s why Damian came to the room with the cream to hand it directly to Mr Da Silva, ensuring he knew how to use it properly. I am sorry there was no cream handed to Mr Da Silva sooner but we are unable to force medication onto guests, Emma asked could she get anything for his leg and he politely declined, as I am sure he did not want to make a fuss, on 2 separate occasions once as soon as she found out about the incident and again when he was offered his refund for the breakfasts, that’s why there was a delay in getting the aid to ease his pain as she felt he did not want any medication. Emma would like to thank Mr Da Silva for his cooperation and understanding as he told her not to worry at all he was absolutely fine and told her a story about how something similar had happened in Germany before. The whole team on shift are incredibly sorry for what happened and sincerely appreciate Mr Da Silva’s understanding and patience as he was very understanding that accidents like this happen from time to time. The breakfast’s were refunded on the day of the incident and I am sorry you were unable to benefit from a complimentary late check out or complimentary dry cleaning, that were offered to ease the situation. I understand Financial issues are not the purpose of your email as I can see your main concern is Mr Da Silva, however I have just refunded your 2nd night’s stay to the card you paid with as our way of saying sorry for the inconvenience and to express our sincere apologies and hope that Mr Da Silva is ok and as your said your last day was ruined. You will see the refund of the breakfasts for £20 and the refund for the 2nd night for £88.10 I hope this small gesture will show how sorry we really are. With regards to your check in process being delayed I am again sorry, check in starts from 2pm and is based on a first come first serve basis, check out is at 12pm and when the hotel is at full occupancy we are unable to get the full 124 rooms cleaned by 2pm so they are done in batches so by the time you arrived at 3pm it is likely that the first batch has been fully checked in. I am sorry for the inconvenience and pleased that our friendly receptionist Megan was able to get you guys a complimentary drink to make you more comfortable whilst waiting. As with all hospitality establishments we are currently experiencing very challenging times due to unforeseen staff absences due to isolation at short notice, staff having left during furlough and new starters who are just learning the role, we are under immense pressure at the minute and I can assure you the service you received is not indicative of our usual standard so I apologise and would invite you to email me directly h7… the next time you wish to book and I will ensure you will be booked in on our friends and family rate with complimentary breakfast, please just allow 24 to 48 hrs notice of arrival and we will ensure you and Mr Da Silva are well looked after. Please allow 3-5 working days for your refunds to show in your bank and if there is any problems or you wish to discuss anything further please do not hesitate to contact me. Don't agree with their claim to be 24hr reception - rang numerous times and texted them on WhatsApp with no reply Bar service was extremely slow

Good Afternoon Sinead, Thank you for taking the time to share your valued feedback with regards to your recent stay at Ibis City Centre Belfast, we really appreciate it. I am really sorry to see your stay was not as amazing as you were expecting, please accept my apologies on behalf of the whole hotel, I can assure you this is not our usual standard of service. Unfortunately over the weekend and the start of this week we have had several members of staff having to isolate due to family issues, thankfully none of our staff have covid and it is not connected to the hotel, but legally they now have to isolate for 10 days after being contacted by track and Trace, we have therefore been extremely short staffed. The staff absences were short notice and unexpected so head office took the executive decision to stop serving food as we were unable to get a cook or extra staff from other hotels in the group as they are in the same staffing emergency situation as us. Due to this unforeseen circumstance we had no other option but to stop serving food as the team members on shift were not trained cooks. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused with regards to the slow service, lack of communication and no food being served but I hope you understand this was an unforeseen circumstance beyond our control at the time. As a way of saying sorry I would ask you to email me directly h7… the next time you wish to stay with us and I will get you the best rate possible, a complimentary voucher for 1 main meal for you and your guest and a complimentary drink for you and your guest. I understand this does not excuse what happened during your stay but hopefully it will encourage you to stay with us as I promise our service is usually so much better and the team worked as hard as they could during these challenging times. Unfortunately I am one of the team members who have been isolating due to a contact outside of the hotel so I won't have full access to my h7… emails until 02/08/21 but rest assured I will email you right back as soon as I am back in the office. So please do get in touch and stay with us again in order to give us another chance to make a better impression. Good Morning Kathleen, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with regards to your recent stay at Ibis City Centre, I am so sorry things weren't fantastic or as you were expecting, please allow me to express my apologies on behalf of the whole hotel. Unfortunately throughout the end of last week and the start of this week we have had several members of staff having to self isolate, thankfully not connected to the hotel and nobody has Covid but they have been contacted by track and trace so to keep the hotel safe they have to stay at home. We therefore have very little team members to work, on Saturday we had very short notice for these absences, we tried getting team members from our sister hotels but unfortunately they were experiencing the exact same situation. So we were basically in an emergency staffing situation, the Andras House Group ( Owners of a group of hotels in Belfast including Ibis CC) made the executive decision to close all of the hotel bars across the group at 12am each night until further notice as we don't want to burn out the little staff we have to work for the next 10 days as they are having to work a lot more extra hours. I completely understand how disappointing this must have been and I am not making up excuses to defend the hotel but I feel we need to explain why the bar suddenly closed earlier than advertised when you arrived. In order to say sorry, please email me directly h7… the next time you would like to book a room at Ibis City Centre, as I will be able to book you a room on our highly discounted friends & family rate and offer a complimentary drink upon arrival for you and your guest. Again I am sincerely sorry your stay was not as pleasant as you were expecting but I can assure you this is not our usual standard as we have been thrown into a staffing chaos due to the pandemic and it was just so unfortunate that your stay was affected. Unfortunately I am one of the members having to isolate due to a family member being unwell so will not have full access to my h7… emails until 02/08/21 but I promise I will get back to you asap if you send dates through to stay again. Hopefully next time you stay you will have a much better experience than this time. It is however great to see you found all team members to be really friendly and your room to be spotless. Our stay was perfect for a short stay mid journey. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn't give 5 stars as the check in desk wasn't obvious as it seemed to be a part of the bar. As I had a twelve year old with me it felt inappropriate. Room met our needs and the hotel was clean

Friendly staff, handy for bars and shops

Nowhere did it say the breakfast would be rubbish. £5.95 for a juice, craisount, yoghurt and a tea. We could get a full Ulster fry arround the corner for the same price. Their excuse, can't serve a full breakfast because of corona, but they could still serve evening meals !!!

Good Afternoon Paul H, Thank you so much for your honest feedback, we find it very useful as we can use it to improve our services and facilities when issues arise from reviews. I am really sorry to hear the new breakfast system was not to your liking and I apologise it didn't meet your expectations. It is disapointing to read this as from the rest of the scores I can see you had a very pleasant stay, I see that you felt our staff service, location and cleanliness were all spot on and worthy of a 5 star score. At the minute we are offering a pre ordered "good to go" breakfast, you simply select what you would like from; Orange Juice, Apple Juice and water, Croissant, Pan au Chocolat, Muffin, Apple, Orange, Banana, yougurt (different flavours), Sausage Bap, Bacon Bap or Veggie Sausage bap and not to forget unlimited refills of a hot beverage of your choice. You are not restricted to just one or a few of these items, you can have one of everything or if you are really hungry with a busy day ahead you are more than welcome to have more than 1 of each, which is great value for £5.95 considering many places charge over £2 for a cup of tea alone. Once you have selected what you like, it is all hygenically packed in a take away bag for your convenince and safety,you choose a time between 6:30am and 10:30 am to pick it up. Guests are more than welcome to sit in the restaurant to eat it, eat in comfort in their rooms, or if your restricted on time pop off to the nearest attraction with your little pic nic. We have opted to provide this service for breakfast rather than a buffet as this would be unhygenic with lots of guests crowding in a small area and touching the same utensils. Our kitchen is very small and staff are unable to socially distance, therefore cooking an individual breakfast for each guest would be the sole responsability of 1 chef, we believe this would encourage complaints about time delays and quality of the meals. So for now we believe the pre packed bag is the most convenient and hygenic option to keep our staff and guests safe. Covid guidelines are changing every day so hopefully we can bring back out famous all you can eat buffet un the near future. I understand your point that we can offer dinner and not a full breakfast but again our evening menu has been reduced and the dishes available have been carefully selected as they are quickly and easily cooked. Our menu is available 24/7 so we don't have that same rush as we do for breakfast. I hope you understand our situation but we are genuinley sorry it wasn't to your standards. Great stay at a great Ibis hotel. All staff provided a brilliant service. Comfortable room, great breakfast and plenty of it! The hotel is well placed for transport links and access to the city centre.

The hotel was excellent as were all staff members! Very helpful team and could not be more helpful! Bar area was lovely as was the room! Reception/Bar staff offered good upselling without being pushy and only wanted our stay to be as good as it could be - excellent location and we will return soon!

Offers such as the fully cooked and continental breakfast buffet for £6.95 per person per morning when added on and paid for at check in rather than the standard price of £8.95 on the morning of consumption. Along with this we offer a 10% off all food and beverage consumed in the hotel voucher when our guests decide to become a loyalty Accor member. Very central Hotel walking distance to most things. Room bigger that i thought it would be, clean and comfortable. Parking across the road overhead Iceland, £6 for 24 hours. Staff friendly and helpful, organised Black Cab Tour to collect us from hotel (a must do, also Crumlin Jail and Titanic).

Its great to see you were able to make full use of our guests arrangement with the 24 hour securely managed multi-storey City Car Parks. Its handy that the car park is offered to our guests at a heavily discounted rate from £25 per night to just £6 for 24 hours. I am also pleased to see you did the political Black taxi tour while in Belfast, this is one of the most popular tours in Belfast and is extremely interesting for our guests who come to learn about the history of the troubles in Belfast and to hear the stories from both sides, as well as seeing the murals and the peace wall.
