Miserable young woman who seems unable to smile on the 'Reception' area stool and desk. Not very welcoming and doesn't give any information regarding breakfast etc. When leaving , again no smile and no 'how was your stay?'. Really bad service and not a good impression for a friendly city like Belfast! Room was not great. Terrible view. If you can call it a view!!! Looking out onto a concrete block of flats (or was it other hotel rooms?) was not worth the money we paid. Disgusting that we were charged about £170 for tiny room with that 'view'. That price was with a discount applied too!! It was dark, depressing and claustrophobic. Hair found in one of the mugs. Hairs in shower. Stained toilet. Limited and very cheap toilet roll. Mugs not cleaned or replaced during our stay. Positive.. beds very comfortable although tiny. Things that gained points for the hotel. Evening staff. Very friendly and nice to chat to. Staff on night time duty on Saturday night (31st Aug) were good. Especially the security guy. Was his name Les? Also bar staff Hassan and Bad. Staff the next night were pleasant too. Johnny and David (I think). One night stay was gifted to me in voucher form (my Mam had bought a new car from Arnold Clark). The other night I paid for. Disgusting that I couldn't use the voucher for the Saturday night stay and had to pay a lot of money for a very poor room. The free night was the much cheaper Sunday stay. Main things to improve.. staff member on check in and check out should be changed. That young woman with dark hair is not pleasant or friendly. Not interested in guests and their stay. We didn't even have our breakfast , we were not told anything about it! Check cleanliness of mugs, shower etc. Lower prices for rooms that are dark, depressing and have NO view!!! Honestly, it was horrendous looking out onto that concrete block.

Not a great start to our stay at the Ibis, the girl on reception looked liked she’d rather be anywhere else but there. Barely lifted her head to acknowledge us, and gave us no information about the hotel/breakfast or the city. Not the friendly Belfast welcome I anticipated. We went to our room to drop our bags in, a quick look around all seemed ok, although the room certainly did not live up to its £180 price tag! Small and basic, but comfortable. Then we opened the curtain, our view was of the block of flats, although we did get a wave from one of the children who was playing on their balcony! The man smoking a cigarette on his seemed less friendly! We went out to make the most of the city, and I will say the location is good. Very easy to access the city and close to buses and bars. My sister and I headed out, and on return to the hotel after visiting the local bars, we were met by the brilliant night night staff. Les was friendly and welcoming, and Hassan was just lovely. A much warmer welcome than on arrival at the hotel. The bed was comfortable and I slept well, however on making a cup of tea the next morning, I found a hair in my mug (not a head hair, I might add!!), luckily I’d bought water and made do with that. The shower also had hairs from the previous guests. Not ideal. We enjoyed another full day out in Belfast, and again the night staff were lovely when we got back. Johnny and David were equally as friendly as Les and Hassan, and it really was the night staff who made our stay. We checked out the next morning. Same receptionist, again looking miserable as sin, no how was your stay or hope to see you again soon (she won’t!). In short, we won’t be going back, which is a shame as the evening staff couldn’t be faulted, but hairy cups and showers, a room with a horrendous view and an uninformative and unfriendly receptionist really did spoil the stay!

Would not return. Overpriced for a dark, depressing room looking out onto a concrete block of flats (maybe other hotel rooms? ). City centre location is convenient though. Poor experience at check in and check out. Not friendly or informative. No smile and we weren't told anything about breakfast. No interest in how our stay was when we checked out. Some cleanliness issues in room. Hairs in mugs and shower. Toilet stained. Cheapest toilet roll ever! Beds are small but comfortable. Night time security and bar staff are the redeeming feature and made our stay more pleasant. Poor experience and not value for money . I am hoping that someone will contact me following a report I have made on the Accor website. Stayed 2 nights in a twin room. Aug 31st and Sept 1st.

Maureen M TripAdvisor review

Ibis Belfast City Centre Belfast Accustomed to small rooms but this was ridiculous 967497192 This hotel is not one I would ever choose to stay in again. The room appeared worn and old. A friend who also stayed compared it to a camper, and that is an accurate description. The rooms are TINY! There’s not even floor space. The “nightstands” were tiny little round stools. The shower is small and instead of having a regular door fixture, there are approximately 2” holes in the door to open and close them - where you would expect a handle. This resulted in me soaking the floor and my clothing that was sitting on the toilet. The towels were also soaked because I had to use them to soak up all the water. The noise outside was awful and we were awakened by the noises of a truck being unloaded as well as parties. The breakfast buffet wasn’t great either.
