Modern Clean Room With Minor AC Issues

TripAdvisor rating 4.0/5

C6884STjoshuah TripAdvisor review

I stayed at Ibis Belfast City Centre for one night as part of a tour group. It is a short walk away from the centre of the city as the name would suggest as well as shops and eateries. The hotel itself is clean and modern throughout. I stayed in a twin room and the only issue we had was that at times the room’s air conditioning system would either turn off or change on it own. This was a bit confusing for us but not a major dealbreaker. The buffet breakfast is a nice inclusion. Staff were helpful and respectful throughout the stay. I would certainly recommend Ibis Belfast City Centre to family and friends travelling to the great city. I wish our stay was longer!

Hello C6884STjoshuah, Thank you so much for your review and feedback. I am very pleased that you had an enjoyable stay. However, to give you an insight to our the AC units work, they will shut off once the room reaches the correct temperature. It also shuts off in the middle of the night to preserve energy resources, too. With regards to it changing, I will mention this to the maintenance department to look into, so thank you for bringing that to our attention. I am pleased that you had an enjoyable stay with us and we hope to see you back in Belfast again sometime soon. Best wishes, Deborah Butler Front Office Manager

Worst customer service I have ever had

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

glo300 TripAdvisor review

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. On the 2nd morning we had requested an additional pillow. Someone brought it up while we were out and then took all of our dirty towels and did not replace with clean ones. We notice this the next morning while we trying to get ready to check out and catch our train. I went down to the front desk to request clean towels. The lady working said she couldn’t get me towels since she was the only one working reception and that a housekeeper was not in for another hour. There was kitchen staff and other staff working. She stated to me that there was nothing she could do and I would just have to deal with it. Worst service ever. We had to take showers without any towels to dry off. We were going to stay here again on another lag if our trip, but I canceled and booked elsewhere. I have never had such bad customer service in my life. To state that nobody could get us towels and we just had to ‘deal with it’ is unacceptable.

Hello glo300, I am sincerely sorry that your stay with us did not meet your expectations, however, it was myself that you spoke to that morning and with being the only person on front office, I could not leave reception unmanned. As explained, we were short staffed that morning. As for the other staff you mentioned, there was the chef in the kitchen cooking breakfast and one other staff member restocking breakfast items and clearing tables. This was not the normal for us, to not have an extra staff member on hand, so you were very unfortunate sadly, which I did apologize for. As for saying that "you would just have to deal with it" this was not true and you know that was not said. I apologized repeatedly for the inconvenience and stated that as soon as I could, I would get towels up to you. This was not good enough for you. And as soon as housekeeping came in, they delivered towels to you and according to our housekeeping manager you were very rude to them. I am truly sorry that this situation unfurled during your stay with us, as mentioned this is not normal for us. But once again, you were never told to "deal with it" just to be clear. Very good budget hotel with great staff who are obviously dedicated to their job. Ideally placed for most visitor attractions with some good pubs and cafes around the area. We had evening meal on the 2 nights we stayed which although not the cheapest were very good... We will look to book this hotel again the next time we visit.

The ibis hotel Belfast located bang slap in the middle of Belfast a stones throw away from Belfasts oldest pub a nicer set of staff you will never meet with a server, Andrew stopping to talk to me for a good ten minutes a genuine delicious Ulster fry made by chef Sean and excellent coffee in the morning with a packed Caesar salad. Incredibly modern with the reception having more of a cafe vibe witch makes u relaxed as soon as you walk in the door
