Very Dirty Rooms-No what you would expect from a 4+ star hotel

This hotel has a 4 and a half star rating so we were expecting a clean, comfortable hotel with good facilities. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The rooms were run down and in need of maintenance e.g. holes in insect screens. They were also disgustingly dirty. Only the center of the room was vacuumed. There was lots of dirt and dust on the shelves and bathroom accessories (see photos). Not only that, there were lots of live and dead insects (especially woodlice) all around the edge of the room (see photos). It was obvious that they had been there for a long time. I spoke to the receptionist twice and she promised that the room would be cleaned correctly but nothing happened. My family member was in another room and they had exactly the same situation with dead insects. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable.

Mercure Hunter Valley was the ideal spot for our short wine country escape, a perfect location with top wineries within an easy drive and the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens an easy ten minutes walk away. The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at Elements... the on-site restaurant and the buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay with easy access to the best the Hunter Valley has to offer.

First problem was understaffed and we waited so long in the restaurant to be given menus , then another long wait for our orders to be taken . One overwhelmed lady was trying to do it all . Our wine arrived after we finished our meal so we sent it back Secondly after we got home I realised my husband had left 2 brand new business shirts in the closet of our room so I calked the hotel where a girl On reception said she would check and call back . I waited 2 days without any response and rang again . Once again a girl said she would check and call back It took 4 phone calls to be told that there was nothing reported by housekeeping which I find very suspicious. Seems honesty in the staff employees is questionable because they would have been obviously good quality new shirts and not thrown out . Someone has taken them . The attitude of reception staff was lacklustre . Will not stay in a Mecure again

We stayed for 2 nights with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary Firstly the restaurant was understaffed and we waited for nearly half an hour for our orders to be taken and then they eventually remembered to bring our wine after the meal was over Secondly my husband accidentally left 2 almost new business shirts in the cupboard when we departed I rang the next morning and a lady on reception said she would check and get back to me 2 days later I rang again and was once again told they would check and ring back On the 4 th call I was told that housekeeping had not found anything . I find that hard to believe and very disappointed in the integrity of the staff .

O hotel fica muito bem localizado, ao lado dos Jardins, que é parada obrigatória para turistas. Além disso fica a poucos minutos de carro de muitas vinícolas da região. O hotel é bem velho, está relativamente bem cuidado, um retrofit cairia muito bem. A piscina parece muito boa, em área descoberta, não usei pois estava muito frio. Não identifiquei benefícios por ser membro Gold do Le Club Accor. O café da manhã é fraco, o que salvou foi que podíamos pedir ovos à la carte, e a geléia feita com frutas vermelhas da região também era maravilhosa. Os funcionários do hotel são simpáticos e sempre nos atenderam muito bem. Há desconto de 50% nos ingressos para o Hunter Valley Gardens concedido aos hóspedes, o ingresso deve ser comprado na recepção do hotel. Se comprar na entrada dos jardins não haverá desconto. Hotel ok, nada barato, quarto um pouco maior que Ibis, porém deveria estar classificado como Ibis e não Mercure.
