okktoday Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Very good experience stay at Kolkata Novotel for a two days "marathon parties". Breakfast was good and place is convenient, a shopping mall Axis is just besides it. Service staffs very attentive and helpful. My favourite hotel stay, Novotel!

Rooms are more than clean. It's so great to find this comfort. You feel like home.

Service is perfect. Burhanuddin is very helpful and he made our room always cleaned. A real pleasure for our 2 weeks stay. I recommend this hotel for the quality of its services. Rooms are more than clean. It's so great to find this comfort. You feel like home.

I recently stayed at Novotel Kolkata and, to put it bluntly, the experience was far from what I had expected. While I appreciated the room upgrade and the effort to decorate as discussed, the rest of the stay was nothing short of a nightmare. The first night was utterly sleepless due to a loud function taking place. The noise was unbearable, making it impossible to rest. A hotel of this standard should prioritize the comfort of its guests and manage such events more responsibly. The next morning's breakfast experience was equally distressing. The dining area was chaotic, resembling a fish market. It was overcrowded, disorganized, and not the serene environment one expects while having their first meal of the day. To make matters worse, I couldn’t even enjoy my breakfast properly. The real tipping point for me was the lack of attention to basic dietary requirements. I specifically requested food without chili—a simple and reasonable request. Shockingly, they couldn’t accommodate this. How difficult is it for a reputed hotel to prepare food without chili? This lack of care and flexibility was deeply disappointing. Overall, my stay at Novotel Kolkata was a letdown. From the noise disturbances to the poor dining experience and the inability to cater to basic food preferences, this visit left me extremely dissatisfied. I expected much better from Novotel and am deeply disappointed this time. This was far from the high standards they claim to uphold.
