No A/C for 2 nights and the temperature was 102F

The hotel A/C was broken and we were told at night that it is not getting fixed until the following week. This was one of the hottest days in Sarlat with temperatures of 39c 102.2F. On our first night we were given a room on the top floor of the hotel. With a flat black roof and solar panels all over the roof we were baking in the room the entire night. No one is at the reception at night so moving to a lower floor was not an option. We requested to be moved to the first floor for the second night. Upon our return home I exchanged several emails with the hotel manager and ALL Accor hotels customer service and got nowhere as far as some compensation for not being able to sleep in our room for the first night. The hotel manager ignored the fact that we were on the top floor the first night and kept telling me that they checked the temperatures on the 1st floor and they were with in the code for using no air conditioning. The hotel has no reception desk they work off a laptop in the dining area. It appears that their management does not care to address any issues.

During this time, fans were available at reception upon request, and we did our best to respond quickly to every need. Our air conditioning is currently fully repaired. Regarding the hotel's interior temperatures, they did not exceed the regulatory 26 degrees. Furthermore, you mentioned that the solar panels were responsible for the interior heat. Allow me to tell you that this is a misconception, as they actually reduce the temperature rise in the building by acting as a heat shield. Their installation was carried out in an environmentally friendly manner to reduce our energy impact. Our roof is neither flat nor black, but rather a completely traditional roof. I also think it's important to correct other errors: our reception service is available 24/7 to meet the needs of our guests. I sincerely regret that you felt that management didn't care about your problems. Quite the opposite: every complaint and comment is taken seriously and discussed with the teams, and we do everything we can to provide our guests with quick solutions. A goodwill gesture has been made in your favor: loyalty points have been credited to your account, which can be converted into discounts at all the group's hotels. Another Mixed Accor Experience

Location is great and some of staff are brilliant - for example lovely member of staff on being told in passing it was my son's birthday dropped off a nice card and small packet of sweets which was a great touch and most of similarly great. Good location near historic centre with a car park (very tight so a bit stressful). Big downer was aircon, our room only went down do 22 and to be frank it didn't come close to achieving that so room was crazy warm (warmer than outside, warmer than corridor, warmer than anywhere else in hotel). when asked about it the male staff member said they only go down to that level as that is what is needed for heating. This wasn't true as due to the heat we bought another room to split up our party and the aircon in the neighboring room was top notch, being set at 19 and achieving a comfortable temperature. Breakfast is decent, other snacks not so good (I wouldn't eat there at alll based on the 1 item we ordered). Some of staff were so helpful I would again stress how good they were (apart from the bloke who dealt (or rather didn't deal) with the aircon issues. Also brilliant tv in bedroom and liked how could connect netflix from phone onto it, also liked recycling on corridor which encouraged good recycling. Liked design of rooms (apart from dodgy air con in one) particularly the shower areas. Receptino area was nice as is normally the case with Accor

Budget hotel - absolutely superb

So called budget hotel which exceeded our expectations. Close to the beautiful town centre. Ample parking. Lovely staff and the room was spacious and had all necessary amenities. Would definitely stay again & recommend.Sarlat itself is a beautiful town and well worth visiting

The most environmentally conscious hotel I've ever stayed in. No drinking water goes down the loo, the air-con switches off if you open the window, there's a complimentary (glass) bottle of water in the room, which is refilled every day so there's no need for you to buy it in plastic bottles, and the staff are happy to fill your refillable water bottle with chilled water from the bar. (The bar also stocks some very acceptable, local organic beer!) Clean, spacious and comfortable double room for single occupation. Plenty of hot and cold choice at the breakfast buffet, and a good range of restaurants nearby.

I was charged for reservations I cancelled months before the original reservation (booking was refundable and cancellations were made well ahead of time). When I contacted them to let them know about the error, their response was pretty hostile. Currently disputing charges directly with the booking agent, who confirmed the reservations were cancelled and I was not supposed to be charged. Mistakes are mistakes, and I was happy to work with them to resolve, but their response was unwarranted. I will not be booking here in the future.
