The White Hart Hotel is set in an elegant Grade II listed building, close to Salisbury Cathedral. Centrally located in the old town, our historic 4-star Salisbury hotel dates back to the 1600s, blending original Georgian character with modern comfort and amenities. With 80 rooms, including 12 new apartments, our hotel makes an ideal base for visiting Stonehenge, the New Forest and Wiltshire. Enjoy British cuisine at Squires Restaurant and Bar, meeting rooms for up to 140 guests and private onsite parking.

We're located in Salisbury's historic centre, just opposite the cathedral. Within a short walk, you'll find independent shops, restaurants and bars in historic half-timbered buildings, immersing you in the city's cultural heritage. Our Wiltshire hotel is next to the historic Market Place, near Salisbury Cathedral. Gaze up at Britain's tallest spire, explore Britain's largest Cathedral Close and Cloisters, and see the world's oldest mechanical clock and the original 1215 Magna Carta.

The main bus and train station is a 15-minute walk from our hotel. The World Heritage Site of Stonehenge is a 20-minute drive, while the New Forest National Park is 30 minutes away. Southampton's ferry and cruise terminal is 45 minutes by car.

We chose this hotel for 2 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. Unfortunately he felt unwell as we arrived, but the lovely Emma on Reception found us a room we could check into an hour early. We had Privilege Room 110. Very clean, quite large - huge walk-in shower (obviously the room is normally reserved for entire rugby teams), a Nespresso coffee machine and a little fridge with some complimentary drinks. The bed was roomy with a comfortable mattress, but the pillows were a bit firm (nit-picking here). Traffic noise would be annoying if perfect quiet were required, but it lowered considerably with the windows shut, and the traffic almost disappeared around 10pm till morning. We had a meal one night and the Korean chicken was delicious. However, the slow roasted chicken (poussin?) leg was not very tender and very small. Inez tried so hard to make it right for us, though. In fact the staff were all very smiley and helpful. The little courtyard at the back is quiet, sheltered and delightful. The breakfast room needs bringing up to the decorative standard of the other public areas, but it wasn't too shabby, and the breakfast was brilliant - everything we could want, both sweet and savoury. Coffees of all types from a machine, consistent and good. We are very keen to return later in the year - oh, and by the way there's a fab Chinese restaurant along the same road! Thank you, White Hart.

Myself and 6 friends, who were anxious to explore Salisbury, stayed at the hotel Sunday and Monday last week - it is my home town. The position of the hotel is really convenient and we found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant and anxious to make our stay very pleasant. We thought it was very good value and the only drawback we saw was the lack of a lift which I understand is on their list of things to do. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay and I hope to be able to bring more visitors before too long.
