We had afternoon tea at the hotel as a family group of 5. The staff were exceptionally considerate to my elderly fathers needs. Shivagni was very attentive and kind,with quick service. The staff deserve 5 stars. The afternoon tea had plenty of sandwiches, and the scones were nice, however, there were no cakes or pastries. It was all savoury bar a scone , and we all know afternoon tea is sandwiches, sweet treats / cakes, and scones . Sadly this makes it 4 stars as I really missed these sweet treats. I love cake, so was somewhat disappointed by the lack of it.

We had a wake here for my dad’s funeral. The staff were brilliant. Thank you Shivangi and her team. Very attentive and professional team who made us feel very welcome. The food was lovely. All of our guests were very complimentary of the cream tea.

I stay at the Mercure regularly for business and I feel that the customer service is fantastic especially from Sujoy, Rupanjali and Ash. Quick dinner service and delicious food as well as the rooms are cleaned to the exemplariness. The beers garden is also brilliant in the summer.

Excellent customer service from Rupanjali, Sujoy and Ash. Very quick food and top quality food. Would highly recommend. Sports are also available when requested. Room was clean and tidied everyday. Your made to feel very welcome. I’ve stayed here before and is brilliant for a pint in the beer garden in the summer.

Absolutely great hotel with attentive staff and sujoy and ash are great people to have serve you and are extremely respectful and kind. Great food, great beer. Couldn’t have had a better stay, room was clean and tidied every day. Biscuits are really nice too lol.
