Really nice hotel in the centre of Salisbury. We found the staff here extremely helpful and friendly, making our stay very enjoyable. The room was comfortable and clean, food was very good and the hotel is a lovely, characterful old building. Thoroughly recommended.

Poor housekeeping and hygiene

Friendly front of house staff but housekeeping needs some serious work, we booked a privilege room, shower had product up the wall, spoons for coffee had a disgusting amount of something nasty growing on them. Not what I would expect for the price at all

The welcome was warm and genuine. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfy, infact everywhere we went in the hotel was clean. Every staff member were happy, friendly and professional, going out of the way to make the stay good. Breakfast was faultless. Can not wait to return.

Disappointing

We stayed for two nights and we were somewhat disappointed with the tired looking hotel, lack of housekeeping and the really loud creaking floorboards from the room above. The indiferent receptionist did point out that the hotel was 200 years old. However you do expect a reasonably quiet room when you are trying to sleep!

Dear 135sallyy, many thanks for the feedback, over the past two years we have replaced all carpets apart from one corridor, refurbished fifteen rooms, replaced all Air con units in the bedrooms, and we are currently refurbishing our lounge and toilets, in November we also have twelve brand new apartments opening as part of the hotel bedroom stock.Im sorry your experience was not comparable experience to other guests feedback, we hope you will return to see the improvements, when i would be delighted to offer you a preferential rate, please contact me directly, with kind regards Paul Clarke, General Manager
