Im still here atm, on our second night. On our arrival we had quite a wait to get the key to the room even though it had been fully paid and all we needed was the key 🤷‍♀️ I might sound like a moaner but we were tired from our journey and via a phone call we were told that our room was ready for us and we just needed to pick up our key. Maybe they should have more than 1 person on reception? The room we are in is very clean and pleasing to the eye on first arrival. The bed is very uncomfortable, any movement can be felt by me or my husband. Can feel the springs. We can hear every footstep and chatter outside of the door. Kept us awake. Had to turn off the heating as too hot which is fine, opened the sliding window to let air in and of course the main road is busy, folks chatting smoking, vaping so could hear and smell it. Is Christmas season so a lot of parties going on, very noisy but being on 2nd floor was not as bad for us but could still hear drunken laughter. I appreciate its the season but nothing was mentioned on the website about this, maybe it should be for future visitors to this hotel. On our last night of 2 and look forward to sleeping in our own bed. Will not be back again, actual payment of the 2 night stay £233.34 no breakfast. The lady in the bar was so lovely and friendly, think maybe she should be on reception rather than the lady we had, lack of commen sense, she took an instant dislike to us. So tired. Really did not need that. Just want to go home.

The White Hart is situated in a stately building in historic Salisbury city center. The lobby is warm as are the friendly staff. The room is quite spacious and is renovated with nice modern comforts. The only downsides are that there is no elevator, the water pressure is a bit meh, and the pillows are not super comfortable.

I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment I checked in, to the moment I checked out, my stay was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Sharon (I think that was her name) who checked me in was particularly helpful. I even had my room upgraded, which was a nice surprise. There's no lift here, but although my room was on the second floor it wasn't too much of a schlep as the stairs are quite shallow. My room was compact but cosy, with an enormous and rather comfy bed. Pillows were lovely and fluffy. There was ample storage in the wardrobe, and plenty of space for my suitcase. The bathroom was compact but had been renovated recently, so was fresh and modern. The shower was a tad cranky (still haven't figured out how to use the rainfall showerhead!), but water was hot and pressure pretty good. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of foods available, from full English to continental options. Parking was at the rear of the property and charged separately, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg - I thought it was very reasonable. The hotel is well placed for the city centre and a short walk from the cathedral. Plenty of dining options in the area, if you don't want to eat at the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here, would highly recommend, and if the opportunity presented itself would definitely return.

Our Wedding at the White Hart

We wanted to use the White Hart as my cousin had had her wedding there and it had been brilliant. We were very happy we did! Booking and arranging the event with Sarah was easy and convenient. She made sure we had what we needed and even checked we had things we hadn't even considered. We had some special food and dietary requirements, this was catered for and easy on the day. Everything was ready and fresh when we arrived and the General Manager, Paul, was there to meet us. This was a very personal touch we really appreciated. Paul was efficient, caring and went above and beyond both at the event and the slightly sore headed next morning. At this point there must be special mention of the team of Sharon and Trevor the Dog. They were great on reception; holding the fort and keeping everything organised and positive. The staff who catered our meal were thoughtful and efficient throughout. Though I did not catch her name the manager of the catering did a brilliant job. They all really cared, it wasn't just something they said but clear from their actions. Special mention here for Inez who made sure we had drinks when needed and was a delight to meet! We would thoroughly recommend the Mercure White Hart Hotel for any event or stay but especially for a wedding. We look forward to visiting again in the future to relive happy memories!

A complete waste of money

Where do I start. Unfortunately i was at the rear of the main building overlooking the courtyard on the second floor. Six flights of stairs with luggage because of no lift. The 1st night and 2nd xmas parties with thumping music and shouting/screaming till 1am. On the final morning the breakfast area was packed, no tables so we got housed in the reception area, only one hot drinks machine and one toaster both with queues. So left without having breakfast which i’d paid for. One person only on reception with a queue to check out. The privilege room was tired and the pillows were awful and the shower wasn’t much more than a trickle…..bloody hell, i could go on all day, it cost me over £300 to stay here. A complete waste of time and good money
