Hair in the bathroom and cold breakfast

Arrived late evening and was promptly given room key. on entry into the bathroom - noticed a whole lot of hair on the floor near the shower and entrance to the bathroom. They did arrange a new room, but advised to sit and wait in the dirty room until they came to collect me a good 15 minutes later. during these COVID times I felt pretty concerned about the state of the room in general and whether it was safe to even be sitting there waiting. New room was fine. Next morning breakfast buffet - usual range of options, but the food was cold. Cold eggs and bacon and baked beans don't make for a great experience. Finally on departure i was told that my bill would be emailed to me...it took three separate calls in order to get the receipt finally sent to me and not without many attempts at getting through to the right person first. the staff are nice enough, but care factor for the most part appears to be low to zero.

We stayed here for a weekend in Nov 22. Staff were friendly, and check-in and check-out was smooth and easy. The room, whilst not particularly roomy, was clean and comfortable. It had all the usual amenities that one would expect. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food. The staff for breakfast were superior on the Sunday morning vs Monday, however, both mornings had friendly service provided. The barista-coffee was of good quality too. The concierge was always friendly and whilst we did not require any particular service from him, we felt welcomed back every time we returned from our outings. It’s position near the stadium and train station made it perfect for the purpose of our stay.

Whenever we attend Sydney Olympic Park for events we stay at The Pullman. Having not been to any decent events since 2019 we stayed again at our favourite hotel. Things have definitely changed…. The service upon arrival and departure was its usual outstanding self, the room was not. Upon entering the floor I noticed old room service trays still outside the door, and the next rooms door… the elevator lobby was also heavy with boxes of trash. The room itself still had a multi paged itinerary taped to the wall, with first aid tape. The room was clean, the minibar is non existent too… and the big thing so noted, there are zero usb ports available to charge one’s phone overnight… most hotels provide these, the Pullman still does not… (time to update those power sockets). The downstairs bar, it used to be open after events for guests to have a coffee or a few drinks… when we arrived back at 1130pm we were told “sorry closed”, when asked how we could get a coffee or drink we were welcome to go for a walk down the road to see if another place was open….. I know we’re welcome to walk down the road… what happened to the Pullman?? Every-time we’ve stayed in the past never an issue, always happy to serve us a nightcap or 2…. Morning breakfast was usual standard good, but stay away from the scrambled egg… or should I call it creamy mush… it’s bordering on uncooked slop… perhaps a little more time in the pan to dry it out would yield a better result… but in its present state it’s just wrong. We may stay here again, hopefully they update soon

Spent ten days at the Pullman and without question our highlight was visiting the Executive Lounge every night for drinks and snacks. John does a superb job looking after guests and the drinks and food are wonderful. He is so warm, kind and professional. Top marks!

It's with deep regret that this review doesn't reflect a great image for the Pullman Hotel. 5 year's ago it was a perfect Hotel. It ticked all points that a good quaitly Hotel should, from Staff, Restaurant food and the perfect Rooms. But this weekend stay was not upto the standard that this Hotel should display. I will start with the check-in, we arrived 20 minutes early and went to check-in. The nice reception staff member checked us in, and said the Room was not ready as yet, but I will contact you as soon as it was ready. That was fine. I had to park my vehicle across the road anyway. 40 minutes later, (14.20pm) we where sitting in the Bar area having a drink, while we waited for reception to contact us. It was the concierge staff member (Joe) who asked us if we had checked-in, we said that we had and were waiting for the Room to be ready. Very quickly the concierge manager rechecked us in again and handed us the keys for the Room. Once we got to the Room, I was waiting to be impressed as I was a few years ago. It didn't happen. The Room looked okay, but not great. It was missing that quality look, and was not cleaned well. The glass desktop was covered in thick dust and the tall wall mirror was covered with some type of stain. The resturant food was very nice, small but quality menu as I posted 5 years ago, but the Bar service was very slow, that slow that my beer was not cold. The only hilight of our stay, was the very friendly concierge staff member (Joe) who we spoke with on both days and gave us some places to shop in the city. The Pullman Hotel will need to upgrade the Room's, before we choose to return and pay a premium.
