Excellent Value - when there is nothing on at the Arena

I have been staying at this hotel 2 to 3 times a month since August and it is more than good value for money, when there is nothing on at the arena. I have read some comments about the rooms not having a kettle and it makes me wonder what people expect when they book a budget hotel. Of course you do not get a kettle or tea and coffee in the room, the clue is in the name. Prices do go up significantly when there is an event at the arena, Don Valley Bowl or Sports Centre but that happens with every hotel in the area. The rooms have always been clean with plenty of towels and a really good hot shower. The staff are also extremely friendly and helpful. There are fridges downstairs with drinks and snacks, a coffee machine, and plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and fast food nearby. Parking is now £8.50 per 24 hours which is still reasonable for the area. Overall it is a straightforward, reliable place to stay and excellent value outside event days.

Great location for the arena, The room was very basic not kettle in the room the standard room a double bed with a bed over the top not ideal for a group of friends staying together as the top bunk isn’t made for adults as the ladders are so thin, there’s only two plug sockets in the room no way near the mirror so you can’t do your hair the toilet is so small if your on the larger side you wouldn’t fit. Not worth the money for one nights stay. Would not recommend,

Cost £140 for one night for a twin room. Don’t believe their false advertisement “ Perfect for sharing with friends and colleagues”. I shared with my son and I definitely wouldn’t share either a college as there is no where to get changed as there is not separate bathroom. The sink is in the room so you can’t have a private wash. Don’t pay for the breakfast as it’s toast and cereal. The only thing going for this hotel is it’s spitting distance from the arena

Good location, very close to arena tram stop. I booked it for a cheap room for the night. Mattress was very firm but I don't mind this at all. Room was simple and clean, very much a budget hotel. Plugs beside bed were helpful for charging. All hotel staff I spoke to were friendly and welcoming. I could hear footsteps above me in the evening but heard nothing when I was going to sleep. Overall it was a decent bed and decent night sleep for a very cheap hotel room!

I stayed here in July 2025 and didn't have a great experience. Obviously this hotel is very cheap, made solely for convenience and we weren't expecting anything even remotely good. But it still shocked us. Our room was absolutely tiny, the shower and sink was literally in the room. There was no bathroom, just a small room with a toilet in it where you can barely even move. Then to wash your hands, you must leave that small box and go back into the hotel room to find the sink. To shower, it is built into the wall of the hotel room, so don't stay with any friends or anyone you don't want seeing you naked! The staff are extremely rude. The card reader "broke" apparently so they were doing cash payments only, in 2025. I asked for a pizza which was obviously frozen but took over an hour to prepare somehow. They charge you for parking upon arrival. I left the hotel at around 2am to drive to Leeds, when I returned, the only space left was between 2 huge work vans. When I returned to my car in the morning, one of them had scratched my door getting into their van. Massive waste of money on the parking, not sure what I would've done if there were no spaces left at all. Try to stay anywhere else in Sheffield.
