Great location, comfortable room

A one night stay whilst attending an event at the Motorpoint Arena. The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone attending this venue or the theatres in the city. Excellent parking just over the road in the Lace Market car park & convenient for everything, yet being slightly off the main area is pretty quiet. Plenty of places to eat/drink nearby. Check in was very welcoming and we had no problem with an early check in (£20 extra), which was well worth it to save a rushed arrival ahead of our concert. Even with that additional cost the room in total was only £95, which for B&B coupled with location, we felt good value. Our room was a reasonable size with an en-suite 'pod' type of bathroom - that said the shower was surprisingly spacious. The room had everything we needed for our brief stay. Bed was very comfortable & pillows lovely. Liked the blackout blind as well as curtains. I'd like to see a more convenient socket near the full length mirror for the hair dryer etc & also one at the wider end of the counter where the kettle originally was. We had to move it to the narrower end to plug it in, but this was right where the curtains drew back to. Breakfast was pretty good overall. The hot option had been sitting there a while so sausages & bacon were a little dry. Personally not keen on the bacon as it was more like streaky - very fatty & no medallion end to speak of. However there was a decent continental option with ham, cheese & boiled eggs (this would put many a hotel to shame who have just cereal & pastries as their continental offering, so well done Ibis!) There was also a good selection of cereals & a range of things to add (dried fruit, nuts, seeds etc). The coffee was from a machine but excellent quality. Much better than a recent 4* hotel we stayed at. An excellent option for a city centre stay in Nottingham & great value if you can catch it at the right time.

It was a wonderful 6 days, although we never had any curtains , only the lace ones where any of the workers coild see through any time. But the breakfasts was truly wonderful. Enjoyed every breakfast. What was very handy, was having the bus and tram stop very close by. Also loved the lemon water in the foyer, , I also was happy with the cleaners who looked after my room so good, Tesco and Sainsbury is very close by if I needed a snack of cool drink. . The oldest church in Nottingham. st Mary's is close by plus the Nottingham contemporary arts exhibition was also nearby, so being very central helps so much.
