Booked here to escape Sydney pre Christmas. It is almost as close to perfection as one can get at the adults only resort. We shall be returning

Rude manager

The bar manager is sooooooo rude and hates his job. He couldn’t even smile to tourist and let alone locals. As a local that is not a Fijian hospitality, so no we don’t want you here. S on woke is so so rude to everyone and even the staff say that he’s just miserable. Trust the management can hire someone with a beautiful spirit.

We could not recommend the Sofitel Resort and Spa more highly. From arrival to departure, all staff - from the Waitui Beach Club, to front reception, housekeeping and ground staff - were friendly, attentive and made sure we had the best experience while on holiday. We stayed seven nights in the adults only side of the resort, which afforded us access to the Waitui Beach Club and lots of lovely inclusions along the way, including complementary laundry, minibar (re-stocked daily) and daily canapé/cocktail hour for Waitui Beach Club guests. The room was spacious with all the necessary amenities and the resort location was perfect - right on the beach and close to the port for day trips out to the islands. We loved the daily breakfast options (so many delicious choices) and dinner at the Waitui Bar and Grill was a special highlight. There is construction of a new resort taking place right behind the current Sofitel, and before leaving for our trip, I was concerned about the intrusion of noise (we booked not knowing about the construction). However, while some low background construction noise could be heard on entering and exiting our room, we could not here any construction sounds while in our room, nor could we hear anything poolside or lazying in the Waitui Beach Club cabanas. I was very anxious before leaving - thinking the construction noise would ruin our stay, but there was no issue at all, and I would have no concerns staying at the Sofitel Resort and Spa again while the construction was still in progress. This was a perfect holiday, and if we could, my husband and I would go back every year. A huge thank you to Robbie who greeted us night one, and the Waitui Beach Club team - you were all amazing - especially, Kata, Silvina, Isaac, Rejieli (covering from the Solis Resturant) and Quentin (Waitui breakfast chef). Thank you, we hope to see you all again one day.

Merewalesi and Nasau at the sleep shop were amazing! We went twice just to try out pillows. Stay was amazing and the pool was so lovely. Staff is great.

The best in Denarau for families

We have stayed at the majority of Denarau resorts over the years and I believe this to be the best for young families. The kids club is an absolute stand out. There is a large dedicated children’s area is packed with outdoor activities such as splash zone, zip line, trampoline, play equipment and the indoor space is great for crafts/movies. The silent night time activities were awesome- with the kids donning headphones with LEDs to have discos and watch movies while not disturbing other guests. The kids club team were very attentive to the children and we felt reassured that their physical and emotional safety were paramount. The pool area has quite a few shallow options for younger children and two slides, which for our little ones, was a fan favourite. Our consensus is that when we return to Fiji with our children, Sofitel is where we will rebook.
