Ex-COVID quarantine facility with dumpster views - has gone downhill. Stay somewhere else

The hotel has deteriorated badly in most of the aspects. Breakfast only open till 9 am. The service felt like in a budget 1-star establishment. Long queue for check-in and check-out. The room dirty screaming for renovation. After being COVID quarantine facility, the hotel gone badly downhill. Some stains in the room possibly even remember that times. Air conditioning has been working incorrectly - it felt like in a heat box. If you like to have an active dumpster view room, that’s the place for you. The management of the hotel appears to be indifferent and not take responsibility for what they offering - they just say that they are grateful for the feedback, but they know exactly what’s wrong with their property and save money rather than fix it. Of course, it can always get worse - so far I wasn’t bitten by bed bugs or rats, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the future for this hotel, as it’s badly neglected in my opinion. Stay somewhere else!

I have been a member of All Accor for more than 15 years and I have been in the chain's hotels in America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. This is one of the hotels where I have received the worst treatment. I booked a room with a city view. As you can see in the photo, that is what the reception understands as city views. And this is the second option they gave me; The first were views of the parking lot. Furthermore, check-in meant a slow and long queue, in which the treatment of customers was uneven; Some got milk for coffee, others were not so lucky. They also blocked an amount on the credit card, in case we made any damage. I don't know what clients they usually have. They have not done this to me at any hotel in the chain; Not even in New Zealand. To not return

First off this is a great location. Cannot complain, and there were plenty of car parks and on street car parks. Reception was good, though they did not mention the pool and gym that can be used at the Novotel or breakfast times or checkout times. The only thing they did ask was did I need any milk. They only mentioned the pools after I asked them about it. The room was nice and comfortable, though it did seem smaller than usual. There were no toiletries you'd normally expect at a hotel, except for a hand and body lotion at the bathroom sink and inside the shower. My boy also found the remote control and an ear bud under his bed. Strangely, there was no info on the hotel or services, something I've seen at other hotels. There was the order and pick up room service menu and emergency exits map on the door. We went to breakfasts just before 9 only to be told breakfast stops at 9am. But the guy was good and suggested the Novotel buffet breakfast that runs till 1030. That was good, with a decent selection of food available. I felt sorry sorry for the lady cooking the eggs as she had to deal with a couple of entitled man-babies ordering their eggs, but she handled them well and professionally. The pool and hot tubs at the Novotel are good. Small but good. They place towels out if you were stupid enough to forget you were going to a pool and left your towel behind. There is a no jumping/diving policy and it seemed that the parents of some kids could not read the signs until myself or someone else told the kids off and shamed the parents. (use side entrance of Novotel to get to the pools. Much faster than going through the front one) The Ibis breakfast was good when we had it on our second day. Had what you needed to get the day going, though I noticed the coffee machine was placed out of order later. The apple juice was good enough and the hash browns were excellent. When we left there was no one around at the front desk, so we left the swipe key on their side of the counter. I felt this stay was a strange one to sum up. Definitely bonuses with the lot action and use of the Novotel pool and gym, but some small things could be improved on? Stll worth a stay though.

Receptionists (both- who checked us in and out) and DM were most helpful. I checked in way too early (around 10:30 am) and the room was ready. The room was not up to the standard, I found it a bit run down, pillows and bed were not so comfortable. Our room was too warm so we lowered the temp, but still it was warm. Started getting headaches so we turned the aircon off. I guess it's because the windows can't be opened. We had a similar issue in Novotel last time. Parking is free (first come first serve). excellent location. Disappointed the pool was under construction.
