very noisy stay & dirty bedding

STAFF: The young gentleman at reception gave a very warm welcome and informed of us hotel amenities. Booking in was quick. Cleaning staff were also very friendly and only to willing to help change bedding and supply extra pillows. CLEAN: The communal areas were very clean and smelled fresh in all areas. The bedroom was clean although there were issues with bedding having brown stains on the bottom sheet. When reported to front of house staff the sheet was changed promptly. We did however leave a pillow out which had black marks on the pillow. This was not changed but instead placed back inside the pillow case. New pillows were requested. The small hand towel was changed due to being dirty also. FACILITIES: Ground floor consisted of an ironing room which contained 3 irons and ironing boards. There were vending machines for snacks and cold drinks although there were no prices on display. There was also a hot drinks machine and a microwave. Table football game and seating area. There is limited onsite parking available. bedroom comprised of double bed, TV (which was mostly unwatchable due to constant pixelation) small table with 2 sockets and 2 USB ports. 2 other sockets were available midway up wall at bottom of bed area. There was no coffee making facilities. 3 coat hangers attached to a pole on the wall and a full length mirror. Nice smelling shower gels were present on bedroom sink and in shower area. SLEEP: The mattress was very comfortable. Pillows were very shallow. We had two pillows for a double bed. Two more were requested and brought to room immediately. On The Friday night we had little sleep due to the people next door and there friends in another room talking and going back and forth to each others rooms throughout the night until after 3am when they quietened down. There was also noise from people talking outside the lift area. Noise in the communal areas echo along the hallway, especially at night when the hotel is quieter. Saturday night was also another sleepless night due to noise (ended at 5.15am). The door to the next door bedroom (130) squeaked loudly when opening and closing. I acknowledge that it is not the hotels fault regarding noisy guests but maybe they should be looking at sorting the bedroom door. Possibly one of the night time doormen could complete a safety check on each of the floors periodically through the night and highlight any issues where guests are creating a noise. FOOD: The hotel serves food. We did not eat inhouse but there were signs to say they offered pizzas 24hrs a day for £8.50. There was a Morrisons close by and a Tescos store around 5-10 minute walk away. There is also numerous fancy restaurants and a Weatherspoons nearby. SUMMARY: This was our usual choice of hotel when staying for a weekend in Birmingham as we opt for a no frills stay but due to the lack of sleep I had which did have an impact on our break we may opt not to go budget in the future as the slightly lower price is a false economy if you have disturbed sleep which has an impact on your trip. There is also no excuse for dirty bedding, although the sheet was dealt with promptly the pillow was not. The fact that a stained pillow was replaced back on the bed raises the issue if this is an acceptable standard for the hotel.

Freezing cold room , heater does not work , freezing cold shower no hot water. No licks on toilet door , worst stay anywhere ever . Beds uncomfortable,2 singles pushes together to be a double . Avoid room 733

Great cheap hotel booked by phone called ahead to confirm booking .Raphealand shane looked aftrr me on reception and wss in my room in minutes great service right there ...One point there no kettles in the rooms ...but tea voffee dachets are suppied .. But there are vdnfingachines aswellCARD ONLY FOR THE OLD SKOOL MONEY PEOPLE ...ibis has 2 lifts well lit and clean .the rooms ate nice spacious toilet as yiu go in seperate room sinl as ypu come in the room then shower cubical THE SHOWER HAS GREAT PRESSURE ASWELL VERY CLEAN AFTERWARDS ghe brd wad spacious and colmgortable aswell i had a resction to ghe hotel soap i just got lazy and didnt get my own out ...my gault yotatly. The jamaican lady cleaner joycee or dot sorry im rubbidh with nsmes she came to clean my rpoom vrty politel lady who lovez her job wd had a right tslk and she was getting my room organised anx cleaex aldo top marks for smsrt fog water bowls in reception A very. Cold, budget, but lovely staff

This is as grim and basic as you would expect for the price. But the staff were utterly lovely. I had terrible trouble getting warm enough to sleep. They came up with me to the room to get the heater going (really not intuitive in the room) and then when that didn't work, got me another quilt at my request. Everyone constantly smily .

No frills. Clean, comfy, great value. Friendly staff. On site parking for £10 a day. Great location for o2 academy and china town. Undergoing refurb at the moment but we didn’t hear any noise until after 9am
