Extremely Small Rooms

The hotel room for twin/double was extremely small. The bathroom was extremely small. The TV was extremely small. There was nothing in the room except 2 beds, a chair, a table and a TV! One won't wish to stay in the room for any reason except just to sleep because it was so depressing. However, the beds/mattress were good and comfortable. The room and also the beddings and the shower area were clean . Best location in Berlin, very close to Alexanderplatz. Buss 200 stops very near to the hotel and also the metro. Direct connection from the airport to Alexanderplats and then either walking to the hotel or taking bus 200. The breakfast buffet was not a fancy 5 stars hotel breakfast but it was very good and it included all that a person needs to start his/her day. The people in the reception were helpful to show directions on the map but they did not have even a shadow of simile on their faces. It is a good option if you just need a place to sleep in after a long day. However, it is very depressing if one wishes to stay in the room for long hours!

I've been here many times - sometimes a predictable basic hotel that just works is perfect. Small rooms, typical Ibis plastic showers, cheap (but quite variable) room rates - best rates always on the Ibis/ALL websites, sound breakfast buffet with cold items only for €11.50 (real coffee, you can take an apple away with you, but watery 'fruit juice'). Luggage storage, number code for room entry rather than key. Good shower, free wifi works well. Clean; friendly staff; fridge by reception for cold drinks (with and without alcohol). It's not the class of hotel to have room safes or minibars. What I really like about the hotel is its great transport links. While it's an under 10 minute walk from Alexanderplatz (train, S, U and tram/bus) it's only three or four minutes from the really useful bus 200 and trams M4 and M5.. The food choice really nearby is limited to a surprisingly good cheap vegetarian Korean restaurant next door and an Edeka supermarket a four minute walk away. A bit farther away there's plenty in most directions, but to be fair this area isn't Berlin's culinary hotspot.

Really good location and friendly staff. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a few days. There is an option to add a later checkout, which I unfortunately couldn’t do as the hotel was fully booked for the next day. The beds were comfortable and if you need anything extra for the room then the staff were more than willing to help you :) The price was great given the location of the hotel, would definitely stay here again soon!

I stayed here for 1 night. Great location and very clean. Rooms are very basic. Breakfast was ok: standard food .Only thing I missed was a kettle in the room but would definitely recommend for use as a base.

The Ibis Budget Hotel Alexanderplatz is located within walking distance of Alexanderplatz in the heart of Berlin and is easily accessible by public transport, making it a good option for travelers who want to explore Berlin. As the name suggests, the hotel is a budget hotel and the emphasis is on a simple and affordable stay without anything else that drives the cost up. Our guest room was therefore very simple and consisted of a double bed with a bunk bed, a single desk, TV, toilet and shower. The room had fairly well-functioning air conditioning and appeared to be clean and well maintained. The shower and sink were in the bedroom itself, while the toilet was in a separate cubicle. This was a somewhat special solution and had not worked for everyone. The mattress in the room was very hard, but good to sleep in. Bed linen and towels were clean and in good condition. The staff who checked us in and out seemed professional, but I missed something more smiling, commitment and enthusiasm for us as guests. The hotel offers breakfast for an additional fee. The breakfast was served as a buffet and had a good selection of cold cuts, cheese, jam, cereals, salads and bread. In addition, juice, coffee and tea were available. There were no hot dishes on the buffet and we missed eggs. All in all, the stay was as expected in relation to the fact that this was a stay at a budget hotel. However, a little more enthusiasm and commitment from the staff could have raised the experience a couple of notches.
