We stayed at this lovely hotel from 6th to 11th September. Purpose of our visit was to celebrate my husbands 91st birthday and visit the eagles nest , has been on his wish list but delayed due to the pandemic Jana and the reception were excellent , even surprised Ron with cake and wine in our room. Had few late night drinks and nibbles in the bar, staff excellent Location of hotel is excellent, beautifully fitted out, spa facilities great , can not speak highly enough of it

I had a terrible stayed in Sofitel Munich Bayerpost room no. 707 from August 22-Sept 5 2022 for 14 nights I fell that the hotel service is worse than the other 3 stars hotel the incident happen to me in different days Did not replace the tissue paper in the empty box. Did not replace toilet paper. Did not refill the bathroom amenities. House keeper left the rags on the bathroom tab. The ways that cleaning the room each day is not the same, some day the room are need and nice some day are worse not inappropriate of being a 5 stars hotel. I think they not using the regular house keeping. I will not recommend and never come back to stay in this hotel again. Boonchai

We are frequent guests at the Sofitel and there is a reason for that. Friendliness, unobtrusive attentiveness of the staff and a beautiful residence in the heart of the city. Online check-in worked perfectly. The wellness area is very well maintained and is ready from 08:00 with hot sauna for its guests. The breakfast is a dream in terms of selection and ambience. Maybe make sure that you don't necessarily eat breakfast at peak hour, so you can enjoy the calmness more.

Utter disappointment

The hotel is perfectly located with the central station, s bahn and u bahn. Apart from that, we had an utterly disappointing stay. My husband and I checked into the hotel on Friday, 9 Sept and were given room 261. Room was fine and no issues. We went out to explore the city and got back to our room to freshen up before heading out for dinner with our friends at 7pm. Housekeeping came to our door at 615pm and that’s when the fun started! We were trapped in our room unable to unlock or open the door. After asking for some help, and enough tugging, we managed to open the door. I then stepped out of the room to speak with housekeeping, trying the door again, and it got jammed again! This time with my husband in the room and I was stranded standing in the corridor. A technician arrived and couldn’t open the door either. He told us this has never ever happened. After much tugging, door opened and we all got back inside. Your technician closed the door and like a comedy sketch, the three of us were trapped indoors. This is now past 630pm and we were late for our dinner engagement. I called front desk, spoke to ‘Bobby’, who tried to find us a new room. Concierge came with new room key (240) and helped to move our luggage. Our new room was adequate, Bobby apparently provided us with an upgrade. The bed was small for two people and with one duvet that barely covered us. There has been no apologies from the hotel since the debacle and I would have expected more from Sofitel. I found this experience totally utterly ridiculous and I find the silence unacceptable. I mentioned this at check out and the lady offered us free breakfast, It was too late and we have a plane to catch. We spent one memorable week travelling across Switzerland celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday and this should have been the icing on the cake. In fact, it was an utter disappointment and disbelieve that this is the level of customer care from Sofitel.

Great Hotel, Service and Location

Stayed 3 nights in a King room. Reception and Bell Desk staff were excellent. I would have rated this property a 5 but the reality is the bathroom lighting is horrible using old style little halogen bulbs. For as nice as this property is it is unbelievable that no attention was paid to the bathroom lighting. Also little to no exhaust fan in the bathroom meaning it took 30 minutes for steam to clear from the mirrors, and what's with the sliding mirror and frosted glass panel facing the bedroom so when using the bathroom at night the light from the bathroom wakes your sleeping partner? Loads of restaurants close by and a 5 minute walk to the train station makes this a super location.
