Unfortunately not located in the nicest area of the city and not suggested to walk around in the evening.. beside this the staff was very keen and professional, the room clean even if a little bit sad .. breakfast also in a standard range with a wide offer ..

Broken aircon, boiling hot

I'd stayed here a few years ago and remember it was a little tired, but ok. Just spent 3 nights here, as it was really cheap considering it's Gamescom week. £138 for 3 nights. The big problem was the aircon not working. It's an old fashioned controller - two plasticity dials for fan speed and thermostat. The air that is blown out is room temperature so is utterly useless. Told it would be fixed but it never was so I had to get a fan from reception. The other problem is there's only one socket vaguely close to the bed, and that is used by the TV. So no TV for me as I had to plug the fan in. Additionally, the coffee wasn't replenished on the 2nd day (the tea etc was) and nothing was replenished on the 3rd, tho the room was cleaned. Plus point is the window soundproofing. It's two double glazed units stacked that can both be opened. Zero noise from outside. So, it's okay and if I can get a cheap deal for next year I'll consider staying again. They might have fixed the aircon by then.

Great central hotel. 5 mins to station, 10 mins to the old town part with lots of bars and restaurants. 15 mins to the river walk. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Room was huge, staff super helpful. Tip- don’t mix it up with Mercure centrum on google maps!!!
