🇬🇧 I cannot believe this hotel can call itself an accommodation facility: it was a nightmare from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were given a room with the third bed completely unmade, left for us to fix. A perfect start to make us feel unwelcome, accompanied by the rude and dismissive attitude of the staff at the front desk, except for the Chinese receptionist, the only remotely polite person in the entire establishment. The website mentioned a “bathroom in the room”: too bad this was a fraudulent claim! The toilet was separated by a door, but the shower was literally in the middle of the room, right next to the bed, with no privacy whatsoever. The sink was also positioned next to the bed: not a bathroom, but a complete joke. The list of shortcomings is shameful: no universal plug adapters, no hairdryer, no shower kit. But the worst part was the freezing cold in the room. The air conditioning didn’t provide heat (in the middle of winter!), and despite complaining immediately to reception, we were promised a fix that never happened. When we went back the following day to bring up the issue again, we were met with indifference and irritation from the clearly rude and uninterested staff. Finally, with extreme arrogance, they reluctantly gave us another room… but things were about to get even worse! The new room was, if possible, even worse than the first: in the evening (at 9:00 PM), the shower water was COMPLETELY ICE-COLD. Nobody bothered to inform us, but we discovered on our own that hot water was only available in the morning. Every evening was the same nightmare: freezing water and the impossibility of taking a decent shower. This is 2025, not a remote campsite! And cleanliness? Nonexistent. The sheets were dirty, full of hair from other guests. The floor? Filthy from the first to the last day: it was never cleaned during our entire stay. Even in this case, the staff at the front desk responded to our complaints with arrogance, as if we were the ones at fault. A scandalous, disastrous, and degrading experience that I would not recommend to anyone. This place is not only unfit to accommodate people, but it’s an insult to the very concept of hospitality. I will never set foot in this hotel again, nor in any other property of this chain, which clearly operates on standards so low that they aren’t even fit for the third world. Stay far away from this place unless you want to ruin your vacation and your sanity. The only positive note? The Chinese receptionist, the only polite person we encountered in this disaster of a hotel. — 🇮🇹 Non riesco a credere che questo hotel possa definirsi una struttura ricettiva: è stato un incubo dall’inizio alla fine. Alla nostra accoglienza ci è stata data una camera con il terzo letto totalmente sfatto e da rifare. Un inizio perfetto per farci sentire ospiti indesiderati, accompagnato da un atteggiamento scostante e maleducato del personale alla hall, ad eccezione della receptionist cinese, unica persona minimamente cortese in tutta la struttura. Sul sito si parlava di “bagno in camera”: peccato che fosse una definizione truffaldina! Il WC era separato da una porta, ma la doccia si trovava letteralmente in mezzo alla stanza, accanto al letto, senza la minima possibilità di avere privacy. Anche il lavandino era posizionato accanto al letto: non un bagno, ma una presa in giro. L’elenco delle mancanze è vergognoso: niente adattatori per prese universali, niente phon, niente kit doccia. Ma il peggio è stato il freddo glaciale nella camera. L’aria condizionata non mandava aria calda (in pieno inverno!) e, nonostante ci fossimo lamentati immediatamente in reception, ci è stato promesso un intervento che non è mai avvenuto. Quando siamo tornati il giorno dopo a far presente la cosa, siamo stati trattati con sufficienza e fastidio da un personale palesemente scortese e poco interessato ai clienti. Alla fine, con estrema arroganza, ci hanno cambiato camera… ma il peggio doveva ancora arrivare! La nuova stanza era, se possibile, peggiore della prima: la sera (alle 21:00) l’acqua della doccia era TOTALMENTE GELIDA. Nessuno si è degnato di informarci, ma abbiamo scoperto a nostre spese che l’acqua calda funzionava soltanto al mattino. Ogni sera era lo stesso incubo: acqua gelida e impossibilità di fare una doccia decente. Siamo nel 2025, non in un accampamento sperduto! E la pulizia: Inesistente. Le lenzuola erano sporche, piene di capelli di altri ospiti. Il pavimento: lercio dal primo all’ultimo giorno: non è mai stato pulito durante tutta la nostra permanenza. Anche in questo caso, il personale alla hall ha risposto con arroganza alle nostre rimostranze, quasi fossimo noi i responsabili. Un’esperienza scandalosa, disastrosa e degradante che sconsiglio a chiunque. Questo posto non è solo inadatto a ospitare persone, ma è un’offesa al concetto stesso di ospitalità. Non metterò mai più piede in questo hotel, né in nessun’altra struttura di questa catena, che evidentemente opera su standard talmente bassi da non essere nemmeno adatti al terzo mondo. State lontani da questo posto, a meno che non vogliate rovinarvi la vacanza e i nervi. L’unico dettaglio positivo? La receptionist cinese, l’unica persona educata che abbiamo incontrato in questo disastro di hotel. — 🇫🇷 Je n’arrive pas à croire que cet hôtel ose se définir comme un établissement d’accueil : ce fut un cauchemar du début à la fin. À notre arrivée, on nous a attribué une chambre avec un troisième lit totalement défait et à refaire. Une entrée en matière parfaite pour nous faire sentir indésirables, accompagnée par l’attitude froide et impolie du personnel de la réception, à l’exception de la réceptionniste chinoise, la seule personne vaguement courtoise de tout l’établissement. Sur le site, il était mentionné une “salle de bain privative” : dommage que ce soit une description mensongère ! Les toilettes étaient séparées par une porte, mais la douche se trouvait littéralement au milieu de la chambre, à côté du lit, sans aucune possibilité d’avoir un minimum d’intimité. Même le lavabo était placé à côté du lit : ce n’était pas une salle de bain, mais une plaisanterie de mauvais goût. La liste des manquements est honteuse : pas d’adaptateurs pour prises universelles, pas de sèche-cheveux, pas de kit de douche. Mais le pire fut le froid glacial dans la chambre. La climatisation ne diffusait pas d’air chaud (en plein hiver !) et, malgré nos plaintes immédiates à la réception, on nous a promis une intervention qui n’a jamais eu lieu. Le lendemain, lorsque nous sommes revenus pour signaler à nouveau le problème, nous avons été accueillis avec mépris et irritation par un personnel manifestement impoli et désintéressé des clients. Finalement, avec une arrogance extrême, ils ont changé notre chambre… mais le pire restait à venir ! La nouvelle chambre était, si possible, pire que la première : le soir (à 21h), l’eau de la douche était TOTALEMENT GLACÉE. Personne ne s’est donné la peine de nous prévenir, mais nous avons découvert à nos dépens que l’eau chaude ne fonctionnait que le matin. Chaque soir, c’était le même cauchemar : de l’eau glaciale et l’impossibilité de prendre une douche correcte. Nous sommes en 2025, pas dans un campement perdu ! Et la propreté : inexistante. Les draps étaient sales, pleins de cheveux d’autres clients. Le sol : crasseux du premier au dernier jour ; il n’a jamais été nettoyé durant tout notre séjour. Là encore, le personnel de la réception a répondu à nos remarques avec arrogance, comme si nous étions responsables. Une expérience scandaleuse, désastreuse et dégradante que je déconseille à quiconque. Cet endroit n’est pas seulement inapte à recevoir des gens, mais c’est une insulte au concept même d’hospitalité. Je ne remettrai jamais les pieds dans cet hôtel, ni dans aucun autre établissement de cette chaîne, qui fonctionne visiblement avec des standards si bas qu’ils ne conviendraient même pas au tiers-monde. Éloignez-vous de cet endroit, sauf si vous voulez gâcher vos vacances et vos nerfs. Le seul point positif ? La réceptionniste chinoise, la seule personne polie que nous ayons croisée dans cet hôtel désastreux.

We've often stayed in IBIS budget hotels, we know what to expect and have found them to be good value. This was was convenient for the Gare du Nord. Our room was fine, in accordance with the description on the website, but with one notable exception, no aircon. We arrived in late October on a warm day. There was an air con controller in our room but it didn't work. When we raised this with reception we were informed that air con is only made available in warmer months. In other words, October is autumn, and the air con is switched off. Our room had an opening window but it was facing a very noisy road. We did not have a comfortable night's rest. We won't stay here again.

Room was WAYYYYY too hot. Tried air con but couldn’t get it working. Only option was opening the window but then you get extra noise. Room clean and overall comfy but it was a family room and the shower in the middle was glass and see through (awkward especially travelling with teenagers). Bit of a way out maybe 25mins or so from Paris but easy when you get used to the metro system and metro is right next to the hotel pretty much. Overall good value for money and area seems nice lots of cafes and shops and restaurants.

I stayed here with my wife and daughter in mid-September 2024 for a week’s holiday in Paris, the week after the Paralympics finished. The price was reasonable, and one room accommodated all three of us, with a double bed and a single bunk bed over the double bed. We had to make the bunk bed upon arrival, but this took a couple of minutes and was no real hassle. Plus, you have to pay a small tourist/city tax and this was due upon arrival, which was fine as we knew about this in advance and were prepared for it. The shower is directly off the room with a frosted glass door, with the sink being within the room and the toilet in a separate cubicle – unusual from an English perspective, but essentially no problem. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a decent selection of food and drinks – a good continental breakfast. It could have been improved further with a wider choice of cereals and more whole fresh fruit in addition to the apples and the fruit salad, but on the whole quite acceptable. The reception and breakfast room staff were welcoming and helpful. The surrounding area was lively, with a mix of Parisians of all ages and races. The hotel is only 5 minutes’ walk away from one of the nicest green spaces in Paris, the Parc des Buttes Chaumont and the local Mairie, which is a grand period building in a nice square surrounded by some fine period architecture (and an excellent artisan boulangerie on Avenue de Laumiere across the road from the Mairie, with prices around half of what you would pay in the very central tourist hotspots). There are mixed reviews online regarding the 19th arrondissement, with some commentators remarking that the arrondissement has experienced drug problems and homelessness. Based upon my observation from metro line 2, the area to the west of the Bassin de la Villette and into the 18th arrondissement did look a bit run down in places, especially around the Gare de L’Est train tracks, but I had no concerns regarding the main roads by the hotel or use of the metro lines during our timescales of activity – Avenue Jean Jaures is a very busy thoroughfare with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We generally arrived back at the hotel from our day at around 9-9.30 pm and the metro lines 2 (handy for Montmartre, using the Jaures station) and 5 (to get into the very centre of Paris using the Laumiere station, which we used most days) were still busy, and Avenue Jean Jaures and Avenue de Laumiere still being busy with bars, restaurants and shops open. There were a few homeless people under the metro line 2 tracks and in the occasional doorway, but they didn’t bother us and we didn’t bother them. To summarise, a good hotel, sensibly priced with handy metro access and the bottom line question with any hotel experience is would I stay here again - and the answer to that question is yes.

We stayed in this hotel while going to the Olympics with a young family (ages 5 - 10). The rooms were clean and aircon was good. Breakfast was also not bad - basic but fit for purpose. Hotel was very central and staff were very nice. We really couldn’t fault it. Big supermarket just outside the door and plenty of resturaunts and food options in the area.
