Nice but room for improvement

It is a good hotel near the airport but a bit further away from the city center. The interior and ambience was good. Checkin was quite fast and smooth. Room was spacious but the smart TV did not have any network which could be improved. Breakfast was good had a live omlete station as well. There was no proper tea bags in the room which was a bid disappointing. The major problem I had was my room key stopped working every time I went down and had to make two trips every time to get it activated which was quite frustrating. The art and quotes in lobby and room was quite impressive.

Too bad another empty fridgeToo bad another empty fridge why no attention as a club member bottle of water is that the loyalty program? I really think it's a pity I found the reception at the table a bit strange and I wasn't the only one. the restaurant was great, I had a delicious meal. The room was also good, but the fridge was empty. This could be better as a club member

One night stop before taking a flight is such a good idea.

Score 0 to 10. Location: 8/10 (Very easy access to main road to go to BCN Airport). Room & Amenities: 7/10 (Novotel style but room need to maintain the bathroom style and bathroom seem out of date). Bar & Restaurant: 9/10 (Very varieties of food and drink, food was delicious). Staffs & Service (At Reception & Restaurant): 7/10 (busy hours will take for a while to get a service). Cleanliness: 7/10 (Novotel need to pay attention on public area). Overall: 8/10 (One night is convenience, at least you feel a bit holiday before arrival to your destination).

White crusty stains on blankets - PLEASE AVOID this DIRTY hotel

Please avoid this hotel at all costs. It is dirty, and they provide dirty blankets with crusty white stains on them - please see the photos. We checked in late in the evening because our ferry had been delayed and went up to our room - a family room with a double bed and two added children's beds. The blankets on the children's beds had encrusted white stains on them. My husband went down to reception to ask for two replacements, but the receptionist told him he did not have access to any of the housekeeping cupboards because it was too late and they were all locked. He enquired if we could change room and was told that all rooms were fully booked that night. About ten minutes after my husband returned to our room, the receptionist knocked on the door with one spare blanket. We thanked him, I examined it and saw it also had stains on it so instead my children had to sleep with bath towels on them. The following morning, we contacted Expedia on their chat system (as we had booked through Expedia), and they contacted the hotel. We asked immediately for a refund and were told this was impossible because the manager was not in. At this point I enquired about changing hotel (with Expedia) and was not this could not happen since there was not a manager in the hotel to approve us moving to a different hotel. The reception team arranged for our room to be 'cleaned' (the photo with the beard hairs on the sink is after it had been 'cleaned') and for our sheets to be changed. I explained we did not require clean sheets, we just wanted clean blankets. We went out for the day and upon our return found two more blankets on our children’s beds, which also had stains on them. We returned them to the receptionist explaining how they were still unclean and had crusty bits on them. We were offered more blankets but declined as we were fed up of going round in circles. We spent a final uncomfortable night there and left the next morning. This all happened in August and since then we have been trying to get a refund, but with no success, from either Novotel or Expedia. This hotel is sold as cheap and there is a reason for that – beware! Neither Novotel nor Expedia have shown any kind of customer service, they have both blamed each other and said it’s not them who should be providing us with a refund. Please avoid this hotel and beware that if you book with Expedia and there is an issue, you may end up losing or wasting your money.
