Good located hotel, we had a decent higher floor room sizewise good with all that is needed. Had access to the lounge which was quite good for the evening service with very good food and drinks. Likewise breakfast in the lounge is nice but breakfast in the normal area is great as well. Nice bar on the 5 floor for drinks. Overall quite good.

Unfortunately the revamped Sofitel Wentworth disappointed in so many ways. Room quite comfortable but nothing that spoke Sofitel luxury. Bathroom sub-standard not included in upgrade, reason stated was Heritage listed - disagree - can be sympathetically upgraded to preserve listing. Bath with shower over and basin chipped; mould under vanity, generally dirty. Check-in foyer like Workers Club and dominated by oversized computer screens; previous memorable floral displays gone. Wentworth Bar large area again like Workers Club and a scrum mentality needed to be served. No quiet cosy nook area for predinner drink and relax. Property seems now to cater for corporate conference type guests who will suffer inferior assets and/or whatever is offered as long as someone else is paying their bill. For the non-corporate/discerning guest who values 5 Star level of accommodation and in house dining and bars, look elsewhere as there are numerous worthy other options close by.

Fantastic Hotel, left luggage at concierge and checked in a few hours later on level 5, room was great very clean and well maintained, the Hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk to Circular Quay and just up the road to the Botanical Gardens. There are two restaurants available so make sure you book ahead and there is a roof top bar which caters for all

Excellent 3 night stay

First time after renovations completed. I was impressed. Front door staff welcomed us and asked if we needed assistance with luggage. Next 3 types of check in and check out 1. Self serve 2. Staff assist at desk to the left of the lifts. 3. Which we used check in as club members on 5th floor. The decor of reception area and the bar and restaurant were fantastic. Had a drink in the bar and staff very friendly and accommodating. Check in on level 5 was professional and welcoming. It was so good to see Ali Josephine and Joao. The club breakfast was similar to before - excellent the afternoon tea more special with chef specialties besides the normal scones, pancakes, sandwiches roles, cheeses, fruit and mini cakes these was the gateaux/cheese cake different each day the evening now includes a chef served carvery. The Club Lounge now has age restrictions of 12 and over after 5pm which is in line with other Sofitel Clubs lounges. Met beautiful Ellena and server Angie on our last afternoon and morning. The staff are plentiful with excellent training on service and interest customer service and warmth. Our room 1630 a prestige suite - beautiful with seperate shower and bath. Had a wonderful stay and Sofitel Wentworth has definitely ticked all the boxes for a 5 star hotel

Unsure about the price, but an OK hotel

I think the Sofitel has some ways to go - the hotel is most definitely squeezing the consumer. Firstly on arrival we were asked to check in at a computer rather than with a person. We were about an hour early, but have never really had that be an issue, but at the Sofitel we were only permitted to check in at the exact time. We went out for the day and came back, check in was ready but our room had a view I would rather have done without. I will never understand why hotels even offer such views - they would be far better off with a virtual window. Note, I have stayed here previously (in 2019) and thought it was fantastic so location of the room is everything. One thing I did love was the moody dark hallways, though the lifts were slightly difficult to operate. Similarly on check out, we were directed to a computer and eventually they just took our keys. Personally, I love checking into a hotel, I don't want everything to be done by a machine. I think you can cut costs in other ways that don't evolve around service. It was ok, but not great so I would downgrade this hotel from 4 star to 3 star. Still highly convenient if you are departing Circular Quay on a cruise, which after our one night stay is exactly what we did.
