Always stay here - but check in process this time was agonisingly slow

If we are passing through Bergamo, we always like to stay at this hotel. Everything works well, location (near the station) is good and the rooms are everything you would wish for. This time it was clear at check-in that staffing numbers are insufficient and/or check-in processes are poor. It took us 25 minutes to check in and watching that 1 minute video on a loop whilst the receptionist was on an important call, situated behind the desk could drive anyone mad. Anyway, a disappointing introduction.

In every way the hotel was just slightly disappointing with kettle not working on arrival. Strange to find the milk ration for the room was limited with reception reluctant to give us more than a couple extra. Strange that a hotel this large would have so few ironing boards that they were rationed by time to 1 hour per borrow. The air conditioning seem particularly poor, resulting in you having to open the window to get a cool night's sleep and being serenaded by the local homeless population who would shout and holler all night on the street below. Breakfast was okay plentiful and fresh.

Good location. There was room for improvement.

We had good experiences with the hotel from a previous trip, so we ended up booking a room at a familiar hotel for our holiday in Bergamo. We ended up booking the Privilege Room because we wanted a better room than before. According to the room information, it was also supposed to have a balcony. The disappointment was that there was no balcony and anyway the Standard room we stayed in before was even better. So we didn't get value for money. One morning we came for breakfast a little later, when we couldn't get a table. In addition, e.g. spoons, coffee cups and coffee (!) had run out. The bed was good and firm.

Conveniently located next to a public parking house, the hotel offers well-sized, comfy rooms. The kindness of the receptionists varies. Skip their breakfast! Crowdy and not inviting.

Nice hotel just a 5 minute walk away from Bergamo Train Station. Nice clean rooms. The beds were a bit stiff and squeaky, but got a good nights rest anyway. The breakfast was a bit messy. Took a long time for the staff to refill with food, cups and cutlery. The food was OK, took some time before it got refilled as well.
