Ok hotel - but with major flaws

Rooms required a long walk from the lobby and had major issues with club music that played till after 11 pm every night. Very poor dinner / drinks options during the winter and nothing for older kids to do.

Becareful and think twice if you want to make any reservations in this hotel, there are a lot of nice hotel in Marrakech

I am a Platinum Accor membership and as Platinum member entitle guarantee room availability up to 2 days before I check in… And I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights of this hotel few months ago (if Im not mistaken around 3-4 months ago)… and with the conditions PAYMENT AT THE HOTEL (my reservations is PRJDBNTS)… This morning 24 dec 2025, the hotel called me when I was sleep, 8:45 am, and I couldnt received the called and at around 10 am the hotel suddenly cancelled my reservations on 26 dec 2025, which is 2 days later, without any notice or warning… luckily I took a look at my Accor apps bec I just wanna check my point rewards with my stay week before… and I was shocked when I saw this hotel cancelled my reservations without any prior notice… and my reservations is for 2 days later, 26 dec 2025 and this morning is 24 dec 2025 they cancelled it… smh 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️ I email the hotel and the respons not meet any of the term and conditions of my Accor PLATINUM Membership… the hotel replied me said that this morning alrdy called me 3 times and no respons from me… Me and my family just flew 16 hours to Lisbon and the hotel called me at 8:45 am and suddenly 10 am cancelled my reservations and the hotel said that alrdy sent email to me but I never received any email or any messages or any WhatsApps or any notice from this hotel… and I checked in my Accor apps that the price of this hotel increase around almost 3 times… it seems this hotel look for excuses and want me to pay more money if I still wanna stay there… the hotel replied to me with excuses that they cannot charged my credit card… the hotel forgot that I booked the hotel with the conditions PAYMENT AY THE HOTEL and with my credit card number as guarantee and with my PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP… I didnt wanna argue with this kind of people because me and family come here not to arguing but we come here for a nice and peace holidays… there are a lot of nice hotel in Marrakech… So guys… becareful and think twice if u guys want to stay at Sofitel Marrakech… And… what for I join Accor membership until I got Platinum…??? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I checked in to Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa on 18th December for a five-night stay, and overall my experience was very positive. From the moment I arrived, the hotel made a strong first impression. The property looked immaculate, very well maintained, and professionally staffed. The décor throughout the hotel is modern and trendy, with a luxurious Moroccan touch that suits the brand well. At reception, I was greeted politely by the receptionist, who began the check-in process efficiently. We were asked to take a seat while the formalities were being completed. While waiting, I noticed that another couple checking in were offered welcome drinks, followed by additional refreshments. Unfortunately, this was not extended to us. As we did not have any luggage, I felt that some of the staff may not have immediately noticed that we were also checking in, and therefore the welcome drinks were overlooked. This did not cause any major inconvenience, and I am not complaining as such, but it would be nice if staff were a little more vigilant to ensure consistency in service for all arriving guests. Once check-in was completed, we received our room keys and were briefly shown the hotel’s restaurants before being directed to our room. The room itself was of a very good standard, clean, comfortable, and well equipped with all the essential amenities. The balcony offered a lovely view overlooking the pool area, which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was included in our stay, and we dined at the restaurant every morning. The breakfast offering was impressive, with a wide variety of fresh bakeries, traditional Moroccan dishes, and a solid European selection, including a full English breakfast. The variety catered well to different tastes. While the options were already very good, a small Asian section would have been a welcome addition—but this is merely a suggestion, not a criticism. Most days we were out exploring the beautiful city of Marrakech and taking part in activities. Each evening when we returned to our room, housekeeping had done an excellent job. The room was always kept clean and tidy, with fresh towels and replenished tea and coffee supplies. Whenever we needed anything extra, the staff were extremely helpful and quick to send items to the room. A special mention must go to the breakfast service, which truly stood out. During our stay, we were consistently looked after by Iwachtan, who provided exceptional service every morning. He was incredibly kind, warm, and always smiling. What impressed me most was his attention to detail—before we even sat down, he would remember our usual drinks and ask if we wanted our regular latte and cappuccino, placing the order immediately. This level of personal care made us feel genuinely welcomed, almost like being at home among family. Sofitel is very fortunate to have such dedicated and professional staff members. Overall, I was very happy with the service and the experience at Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa. I am normally an IHG member, but on this occasion, I decided to try something different—and I am pleased with that decision. I would certainly consider staying here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a welcoming atmosphere in Marrakech.

Disappointing for a Sofitel

Unfortunately a poor experience from start to finish, which was a real shame as the property itself is lovely and in a great location. The check in team at the arrival reception were rude and dismissive, which was obviously noticed by a number of guests who were all talking about it in the reception waiting area. We finally got assigned a room at gone 5pm, but were then disappoint to then discover the room was shabby and tired, with furniture obviously missing and stains on the sofa and carpet. As it was now getting late, and we were only staying a few days, we didn't mention the state of the room but instead headed off to dinner. When we returned we were surprised to find that money had disappear from the bedside table while we were out. The turndown service had come into the room despite the do not disturb sign being on the door. We reported it to reception first thing in the morning, and were told that it would be looked in to. There was no follow up, and when we asked the concierge and the people at reception what was happening about our issue, they said they had not been told about it and so there was nothing they could do. Bar staff in the grounds were equally unhelpful, constantly being pointed from one team to another when we just wanted to get a drink. We usually love our stays at Sofitel, but this one did not live up to the brand. Such a shame.
