Cheap and small but very clean and kind staff.

The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. The rooms are very small but very clean. We had a room with a bathroom and a double bed and a double duvet. We asked for a second duvet without any issue. The also come and tidy the room every day. Perfect hotel for backpackers and low budget travellers, but as a married couple having a romantic weekend I would advise something closer or at least higher standard rooms. The location is also a bit outside the core of Paris and seems to be a bit poorer area but we did not experience any crime or such.

I found this well managed budget hotel to be excellent. I am actually surprised at some of the negative reviews. This is actually a budget hotel afterall in ‘expensive’ Paris which should be borne in mind! Don’t expect Marriot facilities at these prices. My room was basic but comfortable, quiet and very clean with shared bathroom facilities which were also immaculately clean and efficient. (There are rooms en suite available as well). Bed was comfortable and everything worked including a wall heater which warmed up the room very quickly and was much better than the usual aircon/heater high up which often throws out cold air in the middle of winter which you often find in higher starred hotels. Small table and two chairs as well as a good sized sink. Pincode to get into the room which was better than the usual key card which often does not work straight away in a lot of hotels. Bars and cafes a short a distance (use google maps). Port de Montreuil metro station nearby. Easy access by car or taxi/Uber as it is near the Peripherique. Staff are quite formal but also helpful. My phone had run out of charge and my iphone cable wouldn’t work but they have a machine by the drinks machines which stocks phone accessories, can you believe? I had wandered around Gare du Nord station and area looking for a phone accessory shop or wireless charging facility in MacDonalds but nothing available at 9pm. By the time i got to the hotel I was down to 1% charge so the 12€ iphone cable that I bought from the machine was a ‘godsend’. This is a budget hotel afterall but I was very comfortable here and I am a ‘fussy’ person when it comes to hotels. I found the area to be safe at night when I went out to a local bar and takeaway and returned at 2 am, so I am not sure about the reviews referring to an unsafe area?! I found it fine. You just have to be sensible of course and don’t leave valuables on show. Same as in any other other city. Overall a really good experience staying in this hotelhere and I would definitely return.

False advertisement of this Hostel

I booked this hotel through a third party called Agoda. Due the high rating I did not bother to read all the reviews. I have screenshots from Agoda saying the room I booked offered a "private bathroom". When I got in the hotel I was already shocked when I realised it is in an very dodgy neighbourhood. I did the check-in, paid the city tax at the reception and when things finished the receptionist told me the room had no "private bathroom". I showed him the screenshots proving the Agoda app shows "private bathroom". He took my phone to his manager and then came back saying I should complain to Agoda. I left the premises 5min later as I am not in the age group to accept "shared bathroom". I complained to Agoda and they took 4 days to let me know they contacted the hotel and they did not accept to refund me. Of course I initiated a charge back from my credit card for false advertisement. I will not wait a few days to have my money back and I am confident I will get it because I have screenshots to prove I was offered "private bathroom". Even if the credit card company decides to go crazy and not give my money back, I am prepared to sue Agoda. Neighbourhood is dodgy, room is really really small and rooms dot not offer private toilet or shower. Run from this hotel please.

Not suitable for family

This hotel is completely not suitable for family. The rooms are very small. Rooms is so hot that you will feel like you are in a oven. The area not all looking great. Gangs are sitting opposite the hotel outside the building and drinking and making lot of noise till midnight. Not worth the money. But staff are very warm welcoming and helpful.

Very good location by the metro line 9 which connects you easily everywhere at the city. Bagnolet as a neighbourhood was a positive surprise. Good value for the money. At the beginning I had some doubts regarding shared toilet and shower facilities but quickly, with right olympic spirit attitude, you get used to those. Room was equipped with decent TV, bed rather small but manageable. Breakfast had all the necessary stuff available expect ham for bread and fresh fruits. Water machine at the reception was a big bonus with this heat. Staff and reception and breakfast room were extremely friendly all the time. Overall satisfied with the selection to attend Paris 2024 events.
