Disgusting hotel Cockroaches in the room that we see one crawl in her whilst sleeping Poo stains on sheets Staff laughed in my face when I told them Eventually changed our room which was no better but left us in the corridor until 1am after travelling with children

I had bedbug bites. In serious need of updating and deep cleaning

Dirty place, dated and a most likely infestated with bed bugs. Poor mattresses that went up when I sat on one end of the bed. Needs updating and updating of cleaning practices. Not up to expected standards for Paris! I would never stay there again

’d like to thank the staff for my recent long stay at the Novotel Est. It is so rare these days to get to stay at a large chain hotel with so much character and personality. The building is obviously of great heritage, dating back to the golden age of concrete. Its sympathetic architecture blends effortlessly into its surroundings, motorway fly-overs and an ageing shopping centre. The hotel is situated in the vibrant area of Gallieni, which for those shopaholics amongst us offers some great retail therapy… a brief walk amongst the piss soaked streets and you’ll find a quaint local market, famed for its broken building tools and secondhand bedding. Staying in such an historic building offers constant excitement of which lift might be broken, what temperature the shower will be or which ceiling tile is about to start pouring water out of it. In fact the lucky guests on the 11th floor were even treated to a temporary paddling pool in the hallway one morning, perfect for cooling off in this hot weather! I always look forward to a good breakfast when staying away, and this one certainly ranks as memorable! Whilst the main restaurant was closed for a portion of our stay, we got to experience life as a coach tour customer in the group breakfast room. Here efficiency is the name of the game, the staff are experts at not wasting food or energy. The same cucumbers and cheese put out day after day until they simple turn to mush. Once we were allowed back into the main restaurant (after the people in hazmat suits had finished their spring clean) the staff kept to their efficient timekeeping. It’s great to see staff so enthusiastic about being ready for a potential (non existent) lunchtime rush by packing up all the breakfast things half an hour before breakfast is finished. Ever keen on running a tight ship with minimal waste, any foolish guests coming down within 45 mins of the end of breakfast get to enjoy the picked over remains of the earlier spread. It’s also heartwarming to witness an establishment which takes its staff wellbeing so seriously, normally smoking while cleaning guests bedrooms would be frowned upon, but it’s lovely to see that the staff can be themselves whilst at work and keep relaxed. Plus the smell of smoke did cover the damp carpet smell quite well. All in all it was a memorable stay in a unique hotel.

Poor Quality

The room was dated, the bathroom was dirty, and the bar area had multiple mice scurrying about. This hotel seems poorly managed and maintained. Multiple people in our party had complaints towards their room and had broken air conditioners.

Terrible Experience Overall

I am stayed at the hotel with a large tour group of students and staff. Upon arriving, we ate dinner at the hotel. It was an Indian dish of chicken and rice. 1/2 of all of the chickens were severely undercooked, with lots of pink in the middle, My roommate, with a dietary restriction - vegetarian and allergic to peppers - her food was close to frozen at dinner, and she was originally given peppers after she said she is allergic to them. Upon entering our hotel room, we realized that there were only 2 towels, rather than 3. I informed the staff of this, and they reluctantly brought us a 3rd towel. I used my key card 2 times, then when I tried to use it a 3rd time to enter the room, it was disabled, and a new one was needed, this time luckily, the staff was nice and very helpful. My roommate used the shower. The water was so murky she could not see her feet after 2min. There was also a lot of hair in the shower. The grout was black. After the shower, the grout was white. Our trip coordinators requested we move to a new room, it took 45min. The new room was putrid and full of stains, some of which appeared to be pee. We stayed in that room because it was 11:30pm. Another girl on our floor had grey sheets, she flopped onto the bed, lots of grey came off. Her sheets are white. A third girl on a different floor had a dog pee pad in her bed, along with hair all over the pillows. This all happened in 3 hours.
