Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square Hotel 5 stars

room was dirty there was dirt all over the room on night stand, painting had dirt bathroom was not clean. Not a 5 star hotel.

Our second good stay at this branch.

Wow! Very good service and very nice front desk reception

When I first arrived to check in I was told to pay my balance which I have normally done on my checkout day and on top of that there was added fee “security deposit” that I was not told about when I initially booked my reservations. Not only was security deposit on one room but on both rooms I have reserved in addition to that fee there was unknown $100 added to both rooms making my fees $800is for each room instead of the $600 I was originally told on booking, if security deposit was $100, should have been $700 for both rooms so not sure I was asked to pay these amounts as I am just walking in with my family and belongings. Also my rooms were very dark no sunlight, and we all kept sneezing and were congested during our entire stay, not sure if dust or what?! My kids thought there might be a pool available and were disappointed. Overall not what we expected

One night downtown for a mother-daughter staycation

This hotel couldn't have been better located for all the things we needed. Metro, museums and food! It's DC but still quiet enough for us to enjoy casual strolls and if you run, there are plenty of scenery to motivate extra miles out of you. The breakfast is scrumptious.

Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Veronica who helped me fax and print an authorization form for business. We will be back!!

It was not a good experience. It took checking out four rooms before we found one that didn’t smell weird. Room service was not available when we checked in. The shower handle fell off when I used it in the morning. The maintenance service man was very nice and helpful. The hotel was empty, and felt unused and vaguely unclean. We will not stay there again unless the management does some much needed updating.

I was surprised that the property has 'slipped' a bit since my last visit. Worn edges/corners on furniture were a surprise for this level of hotel (and ostensibly not attributable to Covid restrictions). The absence of room service, while understandable to a degree given Covid restrictions, would have been less disruptive with some sort of self-service food area (vs having to rely on Uber eats). While the location of the property is quite convenient, I will likely try another hotel, e.g., Four Seasons, during my next stay.

Excellent

I had been looking forward to visiting this hotel again after five years since my last stay. Unfortunately this five star hotel didn’t not live up to its rating. The rooms were tired looking and not very clean, the temperature knob in the shower fell off and parking was five blocks away. It was a disappointing stay and I felt like a three star hotel would have been better. This one had no luxury feel.

The hotel generally is ok. A little outdated

Everything was great and very accommodating. We needed down alternative pillows and they were there already in our room. The staff was very very friendly!

Staying at the Sofitel hotel was a wonderful and delightful experience. I enjoyed my stay immensely. It was very clean, well kept, and the staff showed the upmost professionalism. I would definitely recommend this establishment to family, friends and colleagues.

Best Hotel in DC. The staff is as good as it gets and the rooms, dining and lounge are the best. My go to place when in DC.
