I had a solo birthday trip here through American Express (AMEX). I would be remiss if I did not say that my first AMEX Gold trip was a success! The staff were incredibly alert to my needs and were intentional in making me feel special for my day. Additionally, all of the food was unparalleled. Lastly, the room upgrade and early check-in/late check-out were the icing on the cake. I have already shared with friends and family how great Sofitel DC has been to me and I will definitely be back!

Generally great experience except that I was charged an extra fee for breakfast when I paid room rate with free breakfast for $88. I’m surprised when I was told only upon checkout that there was a limit for breakfast. I’m still disputing it because I cannot see such limit in the fine print of my booking.
