Great service from great people. Visited DC for the first time with my wife and 2 yr old son. I was greeted by genuine friendliness on Friday and everyday after. Staff accommodated needs for my son. 5⭐️

Good until turn down service

Great location. But downfall was we had asked for the sofa beds to be made in our 2 rooms. I also called when we were out touring to request again. When we got back to our rooms at close to midnight nothing was made up. Called down to front desk and a nice employee brought up sheets, so we made them up ourselves. Not the ending you'd expect when we were paying $700 a room for each room. Very disappointing. It would be hard to recommend your hotel. We did complain on checkout and they said someone would contact us, but that never happened.

Honestly I was disappointed

My employer booked my room, valet, and meals. I was excited to be staying at THE Sofitel. But that quickly became disappointment. For one, the room was far too cold. The thermostat did absolutely nothing to help. Second, I strongly believe the food in the restaurant gave me food poisoning as I spent 80% of my night in the restroom after eating there. That was my only meal of the day due to fasting. Third, the valet took entirely too long. I used the phone number, called 20 minutes prior as it stated, but had to wait ANOTHER 35 minutes as the valet seemed to be preoccupied, making me late for work. I'll request a different hotel next time around.

Communication was lacking. I called ahead to verify my room would be ready because I was going to arrive a little before my scheduled check in. I was told it would be perfectly fine. I arrived four hours later and was told I would need to wait an hour. Two hours go by and I was never contacted, but when I did ask the front desk they said they had rooms. The bed was only partially made, one top sheet was tucked in around the bed, no other sheets on it and just a comforter. Also to be honest the bed had one of the saddest mattress pads on it. Strangely uneven and lumpy. If it was other things like amenities or something, I'd be less upset. Communication and taking care of your guests is free, and it seemed like everything was treated with a cavalier attitude. It was like a "guess you'll have to go walk around DC for a while" response. The whole purpose of having a hotel is to have a room and bed to sleep and stay in. Kind of the two basic things that weren't quite right. Also the Valet was completely on his own in the morning and very clearly overwhelmed. I did not feel cared for and felt like simple details were missed.
