From the moment Jerusalem began checking me in until the time I checked out, my experience at the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square was excellent. I dined at the hotel restaurant both nights of my stay and highly recommend the mushroom risotto and the half chicken—both were genuinely memorable. The cocktail bar is top-notch, and the bartenders made the best pisco sour I’ve ever had. Every member of the staff I encountered was extraordinarily pleasant and attentive. I was upgraded to a larger room facing the street, yet the soundproofing was so good that I never heard traffic. The blackout drapes were excellent, keeping the room dark and quiet for sleeping, and—blessedly—the thermostat actually allowed the room to cool to 65 degrees, which made for a truly comfortable night’s sleep. Five out of five. I will absolutely stay here again.

A grand old hotel located close to the White House. Our suite was beautifully appointed with cosy soft bedding. The only negative would be that the rooms although immaculate and in superb condition are very dated and in need of an upgrade to the facilities. Would stay again.
