The hotel is very conveinetly located between downtown and the White House. The rooms and all common ares were clean, orderly and well appointed. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Your front desk staff were perfect. I needed computer help pulling up ArriveCAN form and Craig Murray was amazing. Stephan also very helpful with pulling up covid test for our flight home. Only negative would be that fold out bed was not very comfortable. Everything else was great. Would stay again.

erratic F&B hours and no room service. we had to request a bathrobe and additional towels there was not much stocked in rooms upon arrival we also needed to go to front desk to request water. nothing was stocked in fridge

Flooded Bathroom

Had two rooms booked for my wife and son. My wife and I were booked in a King room, my son in a double queen, adjoining rooms, by request. My wife and my room's bathroom was flooded and unable to be remedied. Could not put us in adjoining rooms, so we ended up sleeping together in my son's room

The hotel was great and centrally located. The online check in process was efficient which made interacting with the front desk attendant fast. The breakfast, although costly, was good. The room was clean and stylish but the highlight of the stay was the shower.

Bed bugs

I was eaten alive by bed bugs in the middle Of the night. The fridge wouldn’t open. There was no coffee machine.

We stayed for 9 nights at the Sofitel while visiting our daughter in DC. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the Mall and Museums etc. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the room, even with reduced room servicing due to covid restrictions. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always at hand to provide advice and help. The reason for not giving five stars is related to the very reduced meal service, again due to covid restrictions. When we booked the hotel, we decided to take the breakfast option at $30 per person per day. Expensive but given the DC weather in August we considered it to be worthwhile. However, what we didn’t know and was not shown on the hotel website was that they were only offering breakfast in the restaurant at weekends. During the week, you had to order breakfast through the front desk and then pick it up and take it to your room. The quality of the food on offer was okay (except for the bakery option, which was almost inedible) but there was a fairly limited choice and you were basically eating and drinking whatever you ordered out of containers with plastic knives, forks and spoons. Not exactly a five star experience, especially taking into account the cost involved. I totally understand the problems associated with covid, both from a staffing and a safety perspective. However, I think the hotel should up front let you know the breakfast situation should you be thinking of taking the breakfast option at the time of booking. You would then be able to decide against taking the pre-paid breakfast.

it was a vary last minute emergency stay, the staff could not been more pleasant and welcoming , the hotel is wonderful , you corvid policy's are not keeping up with industry norms norm nation wide. nearly all indoor dining has opened back up with a few rules and restriction that are vary workable . surely you can start adding amenity's back to the rooms or at lest offer a modest room service menu .

We stayed for 2 nights and was clean, well located. The mini bar was emptied due to Covid practice I tried using it for our water but it look like it needed a cleaning . There was Keurig machine in the room but there was no coffee or creamer we had to front desk to get some creamers they did not offer any coffee pods. I always pack a box of Keurig with me but they should have a well stock coffee selection for a 4.5 star hotel .

Good location, hotel in absolute disrepair

We stayed in one of the suites. It was very strangely laid out. Very small living room, and the closet cant be opened if the door is open. Worst was - carpet was super worn out, holes in bedsheets, no decent lobby. We bought the breakfast package, and had to order breakfast from a limited group of options the night before, and then go to pick up breakfast packed in brown paper boxes.

Sofitel was my go to brand; no longer. The service offering at this hotel was very poor. I had checked in online to avoid any unnecessary contact upon arrival but was required to check in as normal anyway. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered and picked up at reception as the restaurant was closed. It was presented in a brown box with plastic cutlery. Not a single server on-duty for coffee top ups and juice etc. The pandemic is causing disruption. However, this hotel is simply taking advantage of the pandemic by preserving their premium prices and making absolutely no effort to provide an optimal experience and product.
