The stay was totally enjoyable, from check in to check out. The staff were professional, courteous, attentive and helpful. The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The location was very central to all the main sights. The only thing that we didn't like about the room was the "rainfall" shower. The water flow/pressure was almost non-existent. We were shocked when we learned that parking was $70/day + taxes and fees ($12.60). We did inquire in April what the parking was and were told $45. We did inquire at the J.W. Marriott where our conference meals were held and the parking there at the time of our stay was $45. Not sure why the Sofitel has such an expensive (and perhaps misleading) contractor for their parking. Get the parking price in writing before you drive!

The location was very convenient. Unfortunately, with the rain, we had a continuous drip in our room coming from a corner ceiling. They brought a bucket and towel but never took it away the remainder of our stay. Also, the elevator was stuck on our floor - 10. Because I didn't trust getting in an elevator that was acting funny and no other elevator was coming since it was stuck there, I had to walk down 10 flights of stairs and ended up in the employee rest area. A nice employee showed me how to get back the lobby and apologized. I have a replaced knee so taking 10 flights of stairs was not good for it. Another disappointment was one day, we ordered room service right when they told us to order and it didn't come after an hour and we had to leave without eating. These were the negatives. The positives were that they printed out a document for me free of charge which I appreciated. The cleaning staff cleaned the rooms well and make the beds every day. They did a great job. We had a larger room, and it was very nice (outside of the drip). I am concerned that the drip will make mold eventually, so I recommend you getting to the root cause.
