Don't stay there, terrible part of town and unclean.

This was one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in. The smell of cigarette smoke, not to mention a used condom near my bed that hadn't been cleaned up. Never again. Totally disgusting.

Tired and Unloved

We stayed at IBIS Newcastle in a room that was on a level with maintenance men working in the rooms either side of ours. There were what looked like old doors lining the hallway as we walked to our room. We wanted to rest after a long trip and what we got from around 14:00 to 18:00 was hammering and drilling into brickwork. Serenity!! We have stayed at many IBIS hotels throughout Europe and IBIS Newcastle is amongst the worst IBIS accommodation that we have experinced. It appeared old and unloved and in poor condition. I am actually surprised that this hotel is in The Accor Group because it is these types of hotels that damage your brand.

Cleaner would be better

Convenient location, be aware it’s not so clean, and the rooms don’t seem to be serviced/cleaned daily. When I checked in I had to remove the garbage from the previous occupants, went to reception who said would come to remove it but no one did, so then took it down there. And though I had the “please make up my room” sign on my door all next day, and I could see the cleaner was on my floor, no one did.

Parking cost and availability

The room was reasonably comfortable, though not overly warm (the aircon wasn't all that effective). The little frig was better than many I've encountered in other places. The reception staff were friendly. But my biggest criticism is the parking! It wasn't included in the room cost. It was added on! And when I returned from a family function, there was no spot! I went to reception and said that the only car spot was a disabled one, and was told that it was ok to park there. That's not good enough, IBIS! I've stayed in many places around Australia, and parking is always included in the room price. And there are always enough car spots.

I completely understand your frustration with the parking. It’s not included in the room rate, and there should always be a proper spot available for our guests.
