Over rated and sad to reflect such luxury brand

The hotel is located in such brilliant location, rooms are so sad and dull, the reflection of All Accor loyality program is almost not there. At the beginning they gave me a horrible room literally a storage room in back of the house. I am not sure even why such rooms in a hotel like that. Dedpite being the highest category in the loyality program. Then they moved me an “upgrade “ after one day which a room literally in the roof with obstructed view. Then the breakfast! As luxury hotel this can be one of lowest variety/quality breakfast I had. Its max 3stars level breakfast. For example I don’t eat pork, they dont have any cold cut for you! Note Ibis will have a type for non pork option. I believe it is not value for money except location and absolutely some members of the staff were nice. It is extreme disappointment for such brand that I really enjoy and expect alot when I book in it.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the location is ideal, conveniently close to many wonderful sights. The afternoon tea was excellent. The hotel staff were very nice and polite, the room was clean, and the service was excellent.

We already knew that Sofitel is always a good choice, but the St James was an outstanding experience. The interior designer certainly did a great job: We loved our cozy and quiet room, the beautiful bar and restaurant. Every staff member was nice and accommodating. Our special thanks go to Violetta: She made our stay feel comfortable, welcoming and truly unique.

The best way to evaluate a place is by visiting it multiple times, with enough intervals to appreciate the changes truly. I’ve stayed at Sofitel St James before—pre-pandemic, immediately after, last summer, and now. It’s a 5-star hotel, so expectations are always high, yet the details reveal a great deal about the quality of its management. From the inviting terrace to the immaculate appearance of the doormen and the warm atmosphere, you can sense the hotel’s meticulous management the moment you step through the door. While the big changes are easy to spot, the subtle ones genuinely matter. Todd Debreceny, with his impressive track record, is undoubtedly an expert in his field. Words can hardly capture it; the impact of his management is felt in every corner of the hotel and each interaction with the staff. Thank you for the warm hospitality.

Great hotel right in the city center. We were there on our anniversary and all of the hotel staff planned everything for us and making this special occasion an exquisite one. Also the hotel bar and breakfast were absolutely great! Thank you!
