Thinks it’s 5 star-Novotel on steroids.

The hotel is very much a modern Novotel - think Novotel Melbourne Central. Definitely nothing 5 star about the rooms and amenities. That said the club lounge is beautiful with staff to match. Breakfast in the lounge is great for a club lounge. You also have the choice of hot items from a menu. The foyer / entry all feels convoluted and an afterthought. The foyer just doesn’t flow. The hotel also shares the same building as the mercure welcome hotel which is a pure dump of a hotel. I think both hotels share same manager/services. If you’re looking for a Novotel on steroids stay here. If you’re looking for 5 star stay at Sofitel, Westin Grand or Park Hyatt. I won’t stay here again but to end on a positive location is in the heart of the city.

Great hotel in heart of city

Hotel was in heart of city and close to all transport and shops as a platinum member we got upgraded and with access to the club room which was very comfy and served canopies and drinks in the evening beer and wine only no spirits which was a little let down breakfast was also served here and was very tasty with a wide range of food and beverages our room was very nice but a little dark but with two lights above the bed these were blinding if on bed but above all very comfy and clean the only down side was that they wanted to charge $50 for a late check out even after me informing them that as platinum this is complementary upon availability which they had but still refused me and told me that this is not a platinum privilege but on sending the privileges page from the Accor web site they did accept this but not good on there part not knowing the privileges of the membership

Worst stay at an Accor property ever. I used to enjoy the service and benefits of being an Accor Plus member but not any more. The rooms are starting to look run down and in need of a refresh and then I went to watch TV and it didn’t work and the same with the internet. I rang reception and said rather than switching rooms I would like to check out. So I went ahead and booked another Accor property at Chadstone. Then the duty manager calls telling me I can’t check out early but I can move rooms. I don’t want to change rooms, I might as well pack up and leave. So now I have booked a room at Chadstone and paid for it to be told I can’t have a refund on my remaining night. You should have been offering me a discount for tonight as well as letting me leave tomorrow. Sub par rooms and service to match. Pretty disappointed. You want to know why I am not a Platinum/Diamond member anymore? There are better options out there and being loyal doesn’t mean anything anymore.

What a great stay we had at the Pullman. Location was within easy walking distance of everything we needed. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and great variety. I would highly recommend the Pullman.

Great location, excellent breakfast

We stayed here for 2 nights. Check in was quick and easy. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful decorated with lovely carpet, different coloured couches and chairs adorning walls. The room is large, with a king size bed, lamps that have a separate on/off switch. The room lights can be controlled from the bed and by the entry door. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. A very large tv mounted on the wall, luggage rack in the robe, beautiful soft robes, no slippers, we had to ask for them. There are 2, two-seater couches by the window which is comfy. There is a lot of floor space to do some floor exercises if you wish. The bathroom is small, a single vanity, a decent size shower with excellent water pressure and temperature. Body wash, shampoo & conditioner is provided in the shower. The hand wash on the vanity is really nice, a beautiful lemon scent. There is no body moisturiser provided. My biggest annoyance is the cheap tissues and toilet paper. It annoys me to no end why good hotels provide such rubbish. I did love the carpet in the room, custom made, it had Melbourne street names. It was really cool. There is a coffee pod machine, no free bottled water, but there is a stainless-steel water jug that you can fill. We had breakfast included and was served in the restaurant on the ground level. A buffet is provided, but also is a menu of eggs, ranging from omelette, eggs anyway and other types of dishes with eggs. The buffet has juices, water, pastries, tea & coffee which is self serve, fruits and cheese. The first morning I had scrambled eggs with sour dough. Probably one of the best scrambled eggs I have ever had. The sour dough is just the best. My husband had eggs Benny, one of his favourite meals. He loved it. The second morning we had an omelette & poached egg with avocado. Both were beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel location is excellent for the city of Melbourne. The only issue we found was there is no car park on site, it's in Russell St. Overall, a very good hotel, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.
