Convenient Location at a Budget

As a couple, we were looking for an overnight stay that is budget friendly, which is why we selected Ibis Budget St Peters. Getting to the hotel was like a maze, you need to drive through KFC’s drive through, then onto a piece of road, then turn right, where you see Maccas and on your right-hand-side, you will see Ibis with outdoor parking. Seriously, it’s literally located in-between KFC and McDonalds. This hotel is not ideal for people with physical disabilities, as they do not have lifts, you need to walk up flights of stairs to get to your room. We were greeted by a friendly staff, quick check in and you get the electronic key card to access your room. Although the room was basic and “cozy”, it had the essentials, flat screen tele, aircon, WiFi availability, your coffee / tea and kettle provided, and soap at the basin. The bathroom is compact, just an opened shower cubicle with a bodywash mounted on the wall (I was disappointed no facewash was provided) and toilet – the basin is located in the bedroom area. We have chosen this hotel, as it is only a half an hour easy walk to Newtown, which we booked to see a show at Enmore Theatre. Public transportation is close by, not too far from St Peter’s train station and the bus stop is in front of the hotel. If you’re traveling by air, the airport is approximately 5km away and yes, we were awakened by the planes at about 6am. Highly recommend as a solo or couples, definitely not family friendly. No need to have on-site breakfast buffet, there’s many to choose from, within walking distance or simply go to Macca’s for a McCafe brekkie. Good place for a short stay and you can’t complain about the price of your stay, when you’re close to everything – good value for money. And quick check-out, there’s a letterbox on a table, where you can put your key card in. If you’re looking for things to do in Sydney, they also have pamphlets on display and maps to help you navigate in Sydney.

Affordable and more for Solo travellers

I stayed for six nights. The only reason I booked this hotel was because it is close to my friend's house. If you are a solo traveller then it's perfect. Rooms are ok with coffee and tea provided. The bathrooms are too small but also the price point is low so you can't complain. Had issues with cleaning my room however the lady at reception was very helpful and sorted it out right away. Being a solo traveller it's affordable for me and close to St Peter's train station which makes it easier to travel to Town hall and city. Located in-between KFC and McDonald's.

Do not stay here. I have stayed here many times in the past but the standards have dropped dramatically. The customer service is terrible. My credit card was charged another $246 a week after I stayed here when I had paid my balance in full. I tried to call the hotel and send screenshots of the unauthorised transaction but the hotel number went straight to voicemail and they did not respond to me or the bank for the disputed transaction. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hope you're quite mobile as there is no Lift.4 flights of stairs Room and Bed was clean but basic. Basin in room. Bathroom just shower cubicle and toilet. Another Guest found Bed bugs 🫤 However worked for just one night. Maccas and KFC on site.

Psych ward lookalike

You can’t call this hole a hotel. It could be referred to as a psych ward or maybe a dorm room. You’d think for $258 (plus $10 parking fee), you’d at least get a made bed, or basic amenities but no. The bathroom is smaller than a caravan bathroom. You can’t go to the toilet without touching all four walls. The basin is, of course, on the opposite side of the room. I can hear the blokes from four rooms down. There’s hardly room to walk between the bed and the wall. If you’ve got luggage, leave it outside. There’ll be no room for it in here. It’s a pathetic excuse for accomodation. Look elsewhere. Don't waste your money. Sincerely, a very unhappy, cramped traveller.
