Terrible Experience – Never Again

Our stay at ibis budget in Paris was absolutely terrible. When we arrived, there was already a leakage in the hotel, which later turned into a full flood. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the staff gave us no instructions at all—no guidance on what to do, where to go, or how to stay safe. We were told we would receive a refund later, but because of that, we were forced to go back to our room during the flood, as there was no alternative accommodation offered and no relocation provided. Walking up and down the stairs covered in water was extremely dangerous—we tripped and almost fell. After a long journey, this was the last thing we expected. When the refund process started, we were then told we were not eligible because we had booked with a discount—less than a $20 discount. That is completely unacceptable, especially given the circumstances. A flooded hotel room, no assistance, no relocation, and unsafe conditions should never be dismissed over a small discount. I’m sorry your hotel was flooding, but that is not the guests’ responsibility. We were exhausted, stressed, and put in an unsafe situation. This was handled very poorly, and we will never stay here again. Do not come here.

Most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in!Upon arrival I was met with a rude receptionist (man with glasses) who tried to give us a smaller room to what we paid for. When approaching him about this he told me that I “spoke to much and to be quiet”. The first room we were given had 1 working plug, the toilet was like a port-a-loo, and the shower was freezing cold. When leaving for the airport Ubers were taking a while to connect, we asked if we could book a taxi. A few minutes after this an uber (which was 20 euro) connected and I asked the same receptionist who we met when we arrived to cancel the taxi (we could see that he could do this) He completely ignored us and said that he didn’t understand me,which surprised me as he spoke perfectly good English when he was telling me to be quiet when I arrived. The taxi arrived and we told him that we asked the receptionist to cancel around 10 minutes before and that we already had an uber 2 minutes away. The taxi driver then spoke to the receptionist and was very aggressive towards us and threatened us (2 young girls )with the police because refused want to get in his taxi because of how aggressive and hostile he was. As you can imagine being threatened with the police as 2 youngs girls in a foreign country is very scary. The hotel receptionist was horrible and made us feel very uncomfortable and caused a situation that could of ended very differently. Please do not stay here, there are much safer places. The hotel itself stunk of damp and was very loud, the walls were very thin and people were up all night making noise. The rooms were very small with plugs next to the sink causing a fire hazard. The area itself is very unsafe and we were followed and approached many times by men making inappropriate comments towards us. The nearest metro is a 15 minute walk, we felt unsafe walking there.

Avoid at all costs!

If I could have given a score lower than 1, I would have. Dirty, mouldy shower, no air con, smelly toilet, awful area. Definitely not as advertised and a disgrace to the Ibis brand! Way overpriced for whet you get. Avoid at all costs!

The worst hotel

Absolutely not recommended. We stayed here in July 2025 (7 rooms, 14 people). The experience was unacceptable: Breakfast was terrible – dirty cutlery, stale food, chipped dishes, and 2 guests felt unwell afterwards. Rooms extremely small, hot, dusty, with visible mold, no ventilation/AC. One bed wasn’t even prepared. At 4 AM, someone tried to enter our room – we felt unsafe. No soundproofing, constant noise, staff knocking on doors at 9 AM. Hotel only offered a 20% refund, refusing to take responsibility. Avoid this place – unsafe, unhygienic, and poor service.

Not worth the 'budget' price. Spend more for elsewhere.

It could have been a one star, but the staff bumped it up to 2. Definitely get what you pay for. Toilet and shower are in two separate 'rooms' which felt like walking into a caravan toilet with the smell of a festival toliet on the final day. Area (this did not influence the rating, as it isn't the hotels fault) is rough. I wouldn't recommend walking back or around after dark. We got an Uber every night back to the hotel. There is no Aircon, which was advetised. Bed side lights didnt work, the uncomfortable bed, also quite loud... just overall not great. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return. We didn't have the breakfast, so couldnt comment. When we do return, I do think it is worth paying that little bit more for a better location and 'feel' of Paris.
