Located near train station in red light district with drug deals and pimps outside hotel, hotel is clean but it’s a pretty scary place to walk around even at 7am

We were there for just 1 Night and wish we had stayed there longer. The warm welcome at the Reception was a treat; followed by a very generous Early Check In at around 10.30 am instead of the usual 2-3 pm; clean and functional room; good linen and comfortable bed; good value for money; located just off the main road made the noise level to be negligible; the lounge had facilities to warm up your carry in food even if you do not buy their snacks and drinks. The neighborhood offered a quiet atmosphere and inside - a very efficient service; topped with a very nice breakfast spread including some warm egg and vegetarian options.

Watch out for commission charges on payments

My double room was clean and functional. Tiny bathroom. Staff were helpful. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PAY. I paid on arrival and was offered a choice of CHF or EUR. I paid in EUR and was NOT INFORMED of the 11,40 EUR commission on top of the cost of the room. I only saw this later, on the bill which I requested after my stay.

French Alps stop over

This Ibis is in a great location especially if touring by train. Short walk to the station. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Staff were a bit rude. It’s not hard to be nice to your customers. No mimi bar in the room was the only negative especially if you are staying a couple of nights to store drinks.

Ibis chain generally cultivates the same or similar traits in all of these facilities. This one is no different. But it has basically all you need unless you search for luxury. It is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is designed to offer something for everyone. I particularly like the lemon or mint favoured water offered to all guests in the lobby. It is conveniently located near the public transport but within walking distance from Gare Cornavan.
