My daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights during our recent trip. The room was clean and it was an easy walk down to the centre of Geneva. Also within a good distance from the train station. We had a great time here as our first time in Switzerland.

Knowing Switzerland is an expensive place to visit I guess we expected more from the Ibis Brand on staying at the Ibis Centra Gare Geneva. The location is ok, it is on the opposite side of the railway tracks to most other hotels and city centre, but only just, the railway viaduct runs behind the hotel and less than ten-minute walk to the main station. The hotel room was tiny, the smallest hotel on our trip, not much bigger than a standard overnight ferry cabin. The bathroom felt like the size an aircraft toilet. The bed was comfortable, and room was warm which was good as it was 1 degree outside. The only power sockets in the room was an odd power strip hardwired into a desk under the window, this also had a couple of USB points on it. We only paid for one breakfast on our last morning luckily, This “buffet” breakfast for $33 AUD each was the worst hotel breakfast we have ever had. On arrival in the breakfast room there was no, cereal bowls, no plates, no orange juice, no bread for toast. Rather sad looking congealed scrambled eggs. The coffee mug was cracked, when bowls did turn up from the kitchen they were chipped, and no matter how many times I tried to get cold milk from the machine it was always heated milk, not very nice on cornflakes. The staff seemed to bicker with each other constantly. Having stayed in an Ibis hotel earlier on the same trip I expected more from this hotel, and I feel Ibis should examine the use of the Ibis name on this property.

We stayed at the ibis Geneva Centre Gare for 2 nights, it was situated just a few minutes walk from the Central Station as the name suggests and within easy reach of Lake Geneva. Included in the room price you get the Geneva travel pass so getting to and from the hotel and around the city is easy. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly, I think this is an excellent option for a mini break.

Fairly convenient and close to the train station. The lovely lady staffing the reception desk at night was really kind and helpful! She took a lot of effort to personally find a laundromat for me and came up to my room to tell me where it was! The room was quite small but clean and manageable. I also loved the mini tuck shop!
