ibis Geneve Centre Gare 3 gwiazdki

Close to Cornavin station. Small rooms but we knew it when we reserved. Clean. Vending machine in the reception and a small breakfast area. It offers a free trasportation pass for the area. Coop supermarket one minute up the street. In the Cornavin station you can find many shops: Coop supermarket, bakery, mobile phones, phone chip ... The area behind the hotel, close to the train station, doesn't seem safe at night, just use the main street.

Group of 3 seasoned travellers who have stayed in many smaller budget hotels before, but this was small on a different level.. Would have had more space staying in a Scottish prison cell. No space at all within our tiny room, only room to place one suitcase on the floor and not being able to walk around it, had to climb over beds to access toilet. Air conditioning was broken, USB charger ports in the room were broken, and the hotel required a plug adapter which none of us had ever seen throughout our travels before, luckily the hotel provided one from their stock, I presume this is a very unique adapter to IBIS Gare. Great location, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the city centre along with very friendly+helpful staff (Cannot fault the staff) were the hotels saving grace, however we expected more from a Geneva City centre hotel.

My wife and I stayed for three nights and we selected this hotel due to the proximity to the train station. The breakfast was good and we loaned a sewing repair kit as we broke a strap on one of our backpacks. Cleanliness was very good and we booked early to take advantage of economic member rates. Overall good value and recommend you consider this good hotel.

I booked and pre-paid a room for two elder members of my family who had come to visit my newborn child. I even called the hotel in advance to make sure the reception knew they would be arriving in the evening, to which one member of the hotel staff said “sure, no worries, come whenever you want.” However, when we got to the hotel at 10pm to check in, the same member of the staff told us that there were no rooms available and that my relatives had to go to a different ibis hotel, which was “a ten-minute walk from here” (eventually they offered to pay for a taxi when they saw I was quite unhappy with the change). Mind you, the other hotel was in the well-known party neighborhood of the city, which I avoided precisely to minimize potential noises so my elder relatives could get a good sleep. After I asked how this was possible, they told me they had contacted me via email to inform me about the change, which was not true. I said that this was unacceptable and that they had to find a solution. After a 20-minute back-and-forth, the member of the staff said there was one room on the top floor that had not been cleaned up. He offered to clean it up himself even though “it was not his job.” We waited 20 mins for the room to be cleaned. When my relatives got to the room, it had been merely tidied up. Since my relatives were rather tired, they opted to stay in the room. I went down to the reception to tell them again that this was not okay and that they should compensate us for the disruption, to which the same member of the staff replied with a “sorry, this actually happens frequently, plus I already gave you the room, I even cleaned it” Trying very hard to ignore the arrogance and rudeness of such a response, I asked again for compensation, and he said they could give us “a drink from the fridge or a free breakfast.” I do not think I need to explain why I will never stay at an ibis hotel again, and I will ensure the members of my family and my friends do the same.

Nice stay in a quiet neighbourhood very close to Geneve main train station Cornavin. Comfort rooms for a pleasant stay. Everything was fine. Cozy environment and friendly staff. Very easy check-in and check-out process.
