Expensive but it's Queenstown!

We had the lakeside room and the view was really beautiful, stunning! The location was fine, l got the impression that everyone hires a car in Queenstown so it was fine for people driving. The front staff managers were really nice and helpful. Disliked · We were there for 6 days and midway we asked for our linen to be changed, this wasn't done. Bins, not emptied, glasses not cleaned etc so that was a bit annoying. They also charge $15 a night for parking in an unsecured car park which is essentially just outside which l think is ridiculous. The parking should be free!

Tired, Neglected, and Poorly Run

This was a thoroughly disappointing stay and well below what should be expected of a Mercure property. The rooms are tired, dated, and clearly overdue for refurbishment. However, the most unacceptable issue was housekeeping. We were out sightseeing for the entire day and returned at 5:45 pm to find the room had not been cleaned at all. No bed made, no towels replaced, no refresh of any kind. After a long day out, this is not a minor oversight. Basic room servicing is fundamental to any hotel stay, and its absence speaks to very poor operational standards. At this price point and under the Accor brand, this level of service failure is simply not acceptable. Between the worn condition of the rooms and the complete breakdown in housekeeping, this property does not deliver on even basic expectations. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

Coming back after a full day in Queenstown to find your room hadn’t been serviced is not what anyone should have to deal with, and we let you down here. I’ve spoken with our housekeeping and front office teams to understand how your room was missed and to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I also appreciate your comments about the condition of the room. While it’s never easy to hear, it’s important feedback and it’s being taken into account as we plan upcoming maintenance and upgrades. CONVENIENT LOCATION, UNBEATABLE VIEW.

Arrived at the Mercure in time to celebrate my wife's birthday and were rewarded with a room featuring a large picture window spectacularly overlooking the lake and mountains...couldn't have asked for better. In addition my wife was presented with a "happy Birthday" platter and birthday car just to top it off. Dinner with good NZ wine in the restaurant, once again with the stunning lake and mountain view. The bar/lounge area is pleasantly comfortable and relaxing, overlooking the restaurant and of course the view. The location is only minutes by car from town where you'll find a great range of cafes, restaurants and bars. In the CBD parking is frequently only 30 minutes but there is also a 120minute zone just a couple of blocks off the main street. The hotel has a large open car park that is patrolled at night but be prepared to pay $15 a night for the parking. Parking on the street is free, but it's a busy road and the hotel park is worth the fee. As with other hotels on our self drive holiday the Mercure was selected as part of the package, but we don't feel we could have chosen better.

Everything good except .....

Everything fine until 6am breakfast, Bain Marie food was stone cold I always thought food was cooked and then placed in baine maries to keep it hot but this hotel has a new approach, stick cold food in? Beyond a joke! Have another night to enjoy so will retest breakfast tomorrow and they will get instant feedback!

Thank you to Kay and staff for a truly memorable experience celebrating my wife’s Birthday party in the Manata room at the Mercure Resort Queenstown. The staff were friendly, the food was great and the views of the lake are amazing. Anyone considering a special event party, We would recommend Mercure at Queenstown from our personal experience.
